Warm. That was the first thing I noticed. Warm and comfortable and weirdly safe, which immediately meant something was wrong because nothing in this palace came without emotional consequences anymore. I frowned slightly, still half asleep, trying to figure out why something soft kept moving through my hair so gently. Wait. Moving? My eyes opened slowly and Serena was looking down at me, her fingers were carefully stroking through my hair with an expression so soft it almost short circuited my brain instantly.
"Why are you staring at me like that?" I whispered automatically.
"You fell asleep on me."Serena blinked once, calm as always.
Memory returned violently.
"Oh no."I gasped.
"You were tired."She said.
"I COMMITTED CONTACT."I said.
"You purred."She said.
"I NEED TO LEAVE."I said.
