A FEW MOMENTS LATER
ZAVIER
I should have stayed where I was, that was the last logical thought I had because Adam moved again. Not fast, not sudden, just decided. One moment I was sitting, the next I was in his lap.
"Adam." I said.
"You were cold." He replied.
"I was not cold."I sighed.
"You are now."He said.
"That is not how temperature works."I sighed.
"It is for me." He said calmly.
"This is unnecessary."I stared at him.
"You are not moving." He pointed out.
I froze because he wasn't wrong.
"Temporary compliance." I said.
"Accepted." He replied.
His arm was around me, secure, steady, and not trapping, but not letting go either. I could feel his heartbeat slow and controlled while mine was not.
"This is inefficient." I muttered.
"You are relaxing." He said.
"I am not relaxing."I said.
"You leaned in."He said.
"That was accidental."I stopped.
"It was not." He said.
