Warning: Some 'smut' scenes ahead
A FEW MOMENTS LATER
ZAVIER
I should have known it wouldn't stay calm, it never does with Adam. The room was quiet, too quiet. Warm, soft, safe, wrapped in far too many blankets that absolutely did not belong in a normal academy infirmary. Royal fabric, heavy, expensive, and suffocating, and him right there. Too close.
"You're still warm." Adam murmured.
"I am aware."I exhaled slowly, trying to keep control.
"You're worse." He corrected.
"I am managing."I said.
"You are not."Adam sighed as his hand brushed my arm. That was a mistake.
My breath hitched before I could stop it and he noticed. Of course he did.
"Zavier…" His voice dropped slightly, softer, but sharper in a different way. "You're reacting."
"I am not-"I began to argue.
I turned my head slightly, avoiding his eyes. Mistake number two as he leaned closer.
"You keep trying to pretend you're unaffected." He said quietly.
"I am unaffected."I sighed.
