"Yeah, he's quite a good kid. And respectful too," Dr. Turner said with an awkward smile.
"Are you guys recovering well?" Sneha asked, looking towards Emily.
"Yep, we are doing fine," Emily said flatly.
Sneha lingered for a while, then turned towards Dr. Turner.
"Well then, Dr. Turner, I think it's time for me to say bye. I have some business to attend to," Sneha said, putting her hand forward for a handshake with him.
"Oh, is that so? But I want to ask something, before you go." Dr. Turner said in a grim tone.
Sneha pulled her hand back and smiled.
"Yeah, why not, Dr. Turner?" Sneha said, nodding her head.
"What are your views on the abomination that entered the facility today?" Dr. Turner asked, his gaze sharpened.
Sneha blinked twice.
"I don't know, Doctor. We are still investigating," Sneha answered.
"Oh, is that so? But a thing like that doesn't wander on its own, isn't it?" Dr. Turner raised his eyebrows.
"Well, that is true, Doctor. But until the investigation is done, I can't really say why it happened or who was behind it." Sneha was not smiling anymore. She looked behind Dr. Turner. Her eyes had a soft glow.
Dr. Turner looked back to see where Sneha was looking.
"I understand. But is there something you would like me to know?" Dr. Turner asked, leaning forward.
"I think there's no point hiding it anymore, isn't it, Emily?" She turned towards Emily with a grim expression on her face.
"Yeah… I thought so too," Emily said while rising from her wheelchair.
"And Gwen, you can put your sword down," Sneha said firmly.
Gwen had been there the whole time. Using her invisibility, she had hidden in plain sight, standing just behind Mr. Johatsu.
A tall man—nearly six feet—with long hair falling to his shoulders. He wore a long coat, a black sword resting in his hand. Cloaked in invisibility, he stood just behind Dr. Turner, ready to cut him down at any moment.
"Good thing you said it… I was about to tell her the same," Emily added.
