Present time…
Emil looked at Emily, taking a trip down memory lane. There were still many questions lingering in his mind. Like, why did Emily specifically tell him to go for that door?
She could have just made other points to push him away from the battle, but since it was related to her fragments, it was definitely something Emil didn't want to risk neglecting.
'I hope that she's not just doing it for me; those eyes are setting the wrong alarms for me. Wait… why am I talking like that, punk.'
Lysander, Gwen, and Emily were going to be the ones fighting. He didn't doubt any of them. But still, he wasn't sure if confronting her like this was the right idea. However, Doctor Turner was here to have no regrets.
The plan was simple: they would first confirm whether all of those speculations were right. Though it was mostly on the part of Doctor Turner, who still believed in Sneha.
Second, if she remains serene, then they will try to change her course of action. And if not, it was all about to go down to a fight.
And third, figure out the scale of what is coming. Whether Xaoc is real or a name dropped to create fear. How Sneha plans to bring that many abominations into a place like this.
'Now, Now, here we go.' Emil looked towards Sneha, who was standing right beside Dr. Turner.
'What… what is that strange thing on her neck?' Emil thought after looking at the weird square device on her neck.
Sneha moved her hand forward, and Dr. Turner did the same. And then… just as their hands met, a strange robotic sound came from Sneha.
"Hello, Dr. Turner, what made you come here?" she asked in a strange, cranky voice.
"Ah, it's nothing… I just brought them here to show them around. By the way, this is Emily… and this is Emil," Dr. Turner said, pausing slightly between his words.
"Oh… so this is the great Emily I've heard so much about… and her little brother." That robotic voice did no justice to the emotions behind it.
"Actually, I'm the older one—" Emil immediately cut her off.
"Oh, sorry… I didn't know that," Sneha said apologetically.
Emil just shook his head and then looked at Dr. Turner. "Dr. Turner… could I borrow you for a second?"
Dr. Turner looked a bit surprised. "Ah—yes, yes, of course."
Emil stood up and quietly moved closer, trying to whisper something into Dr. Turner's ear. There was a strange tension on his face.
"What happened, Emil? Is something wrong?" Sneha asked.
Emily clicked her tongue, slightly annoyed. "Oh, idiot, just say it. He needs to go to the toilet. Put a pretty girl in front of him, and he forgets how to act."
Emil's mouth was left hanging open. Dr. Turner couldn't hold back his laughter either. Sneha turned her face to the side for a few seconds, trying to hide her smile.
Emily shot Emil a sharp look and then, muttering something under her breath, started walking toward the facility building.
"Don't mind him, he's an idiot," Emily said, pointing at Emil, who was still staring at her.
"No, no… he's good," Sneha said.
