Sairis's POV
Daye sat with that for a moment. He looked at the table and then back at Sairis. "So whoever was placing those orders knew that the queen was going to die," he said.
"They stopped the orders because they no longer needed the goods. The work was already done."
"That is what I think," Sairis said.
"Which means it was not an accident," Daye said. "It was planned. Someone planned it from the beginning, placed the orders carefully over a period of time, made sure the goods kept coming in quietly, and then stopped the moment it was no longer necessary."
"Yes," Sairis said.
Daye leaned forward. "And the stable boy with the cloak," he said. "That was deliberate too. Covering the face. Coming at night. Making sure the merchant could not identify anyone."
He shook his head. "This was not someone acting in a moment of anger or impulse. This was someone who thought it through carefully."
