Chapter 356: The Method to Advance to Main God! A Crucial Use for the Main God Authority!
....
The next microsecond!
Hestia suddenly froze! She instantly realized something was completely wrong. There was clearly no one else around a moment ago, so why did a voice suddenly echo right next to her?!
Shua—!
Turning her head abruptly, Hestia whipped around toward the source of the sound. Standing right beside her was a white-haired young man, offering her a relaxed, knowing smile.
This left Hestia utterly mystified. After all, her personal sensory arrays hadn't detected a single ripple in the surrounding coordinates just now! One had to remember that she was a peak God-rank powerhouse. In this God-King Star Sector, only a true God-King could completely bypass her detection!
Could it be...
"Y-Y-You... You're a God-King!" Hestia shrieked in absolute panic.
Why would a completely strange God-King suddenly materialize right beside her?! And more importantly, she had never seen this person in any of the local registries before!
"Bingo. I'm just a God-King who happens to be passing through the area~" Seito replied with an amused chuckle.
At this point, a clear deduction had formed in his mind. Hestia had just mentioned something about descending to form a "Familia." This meant that there was a high probability the current timeline sat right before the main canon of the anime started. If that was the case, the protagonist, Bell Cranel, hadn't even joined a Familia yet.
However... along with this realization, a few deep mechanical questions surfaced.
In the original story, the primary leader of their faction was Zeus, and Bell Cranel was his grandson. Yet, that universe also contained gods like Loki, who in classic mythology belonged to the Norse Pantheon under Odin.
Furthermore, Hestia's own mythological background was massive. In Greek mythology, there were Twelve Olympian Gods, with Zeus being the supreme Main God. Hestia was similarly one of those twelve. Although her combat metrics in the stories didn't match Zeus, her structural status was staggeringly high!
Seito could faintly sense that the Hestia standing before him could practically trigger a breakthrough to the God-King tier at any given microsecond. After all, she was technically Zeus's eldest sister!
And as for Loki, her father in lore was Odin—the supreme leader of the Norse Faction. They belonged to entirely separate mythologies!
Connecting these dots, the Hestia standing before Seito definitively did not operate under regular, isolated Earth mythologies. It was highly likely that her current faction was a massive, integrated network known as the "Western Mythos Faction," with Zeus acting as the central pillar.
"Who exactly are you?" Hestia asked, her eyes filled with curiosity.
Now that she knew Seito was a powerhouse of the God-King tier, she actually didn't show an excessive amount of terror. It was hard to tell if she was simply a scatterbrain, or if she possessed a hidden trump card that gave her absolute confidence. Seito strongly leaned toward the latter. Although this petite goddess acted simple-minded, she wasn't a fool. For a completely strange god to appear out of nowhere without triggering a single shred of defensive vigilance from her suggested that her peak God-rank metrics were merely a baseline mask.
"Hello there. I am the sovereign of the Spatial Divine Faction, the Space God-King, Seito!" Seito introduced himself with a warm, polite smile.
"Hello! My name is Hestia, and I'm one of the Main Gods of the Western Mythos Faction," Hestia replied with a sweet, cheerful grin.
Hearing her words, a sharp gleam flashed across Seito's eyes. The Western Mythos Faction? That name was certainly interesting. But compared to the title of the faction, what she said next was infinitely more fascinating: "One of the Main Gods."
"Why do you refer to yourself as 'one of' the Main Gods?" Seito inquired.
Even if a faction possessed high-tier authority, the highest probability was that a single supreme leader like Zeus held the executive core. Even if a faction's internal structure recognized twelve high-tier gods, they would typically present themselves to outsiders simply as a generic "God" of the faction to maintain a unified, terrifying front. Yet, Hestia had casually blurted out that she was one of the Main Gods. This thoroughly piqued Seito's interest.
"Mmuu~~"
Hestia paused, her large eyes shifting as she fell into deep thought. A moment later, she looked back up at Seito and explained, "It's actually pretty simple. You should already know about the Main God Authority, right? After all, that's the absolute number-one treasure that every single God-King in this entire star sector wants to get their hands on!"
"Oh? Why don't you break it down for me?" Seito blinked, seamlessly keeping his face perfectly stoic as he prompted her. An absolute treasure that every God-King craves? Could this Main God Authority possess a far deeper structural function than I initially thought?
"Sure," Hestia nodded. "A powerhouse who reaches the Main God Realm gains absolute omniscience and omnipotence, acting as the supreme sovereign of an entire divine faction. Their raw power is unimaginably vast."
"However, if a god wants to break through and breach the ceiling into the Main God Realm, they must simultaneously fulfill three absolute criteria: they must possess the Main God Authority, they must unlock the power of omniscience and omnipotence, and their personal parameters must be at the absolute peak of the God-King Realm. Only by fulfilling all three can they successfully ignite their Divine Fire and ascend as a true Main God!"
"Because of this, across the entire God-King Star Sector, whenever a God-King manages to hunt down and kill another God-King who holds an active authority license, they instantly inherit the technical qualification to become a Main God!"
Hearing her technical breakdown, Seito was completely stunned.
Holy cow! So that's how the system matrix actually works!
Realization washed over him in a massive wave. He had completely underestimated the structural value of his rewards. No wonder true Main Gods commanded absolute omniscience and omnipotence along with their executive clearance. It turned out to be a fundamental requirement of the ascension path!
Initially, he had assumed that the Main God Authority he received from his system was merely a temporary, high-tier preview feature allowing him to experience advanced administrative perks ahead of time. He hadn't realized that the system had straight up handed him an absolute, VIP golden ticket to the highest tier of godhood!
The moment the thought solidified, Seito decided right then and there to permanently lock this secret down into the absolute deepest depths of his mind. He certainly had no intention of letting a single soul find out about his baseline metrics!
"I see. That makes perfect sense," Seito nodded smoothly, signaling her to continue.
Seeing his understanding, Hestia went on to explain, "Our faction's political history is a bit chaotic, so I'll give you a simple summary."
"Originally, our Western Mythos Faction only had one single Main God—my father, Kronos! However, after Zeus successfully led the rebellion to overthrow him, father's original Main God Authority was forcefully shattered and split into twelve distinct fragments. That's exactly why our faction currently houses twelve co-existing Main Gods."
The historical summary was clean and straightforward, and Seito grasped the logic instantly. He was already well-aware of the mythological tale regarding Zeus overthrowing Kronos. However, a glaring mechanics question still bothered him.
If this were a regular mortal story, a son overthrowing his father was nothing unusual. But this was the God Domain! A true Main God commanded absolute authority over their domain, possessing the systemic power to instantly control the life and death of any subordinate god bound to their faction. Under such an absolute, mathematically flawless advantage, how on earth did Zeus manage to organize a successful coup and overthrow Kronos?
Seito's features naturally twisted into a look of deep perplexity.
Tracking the sudden shift in his expression, Hestia instantly deciphered what was running through his mind. She offered a soft, knowing sigh and explained, "In reality, the reason Zeus was able to successfully overthrow our father was quite straightforward—because from the very microsecond we were born, none of us were ever registered as his subordinate gods."
"We weren't registered as his subordinate gods?" Seito asked, his interest thoroughly piqued.
"Exactly," Hestia nodded, her pouting face carrying a trace of ancient history. "Father was paranoid that one of his children would surpass him, so instead of binding us to his faction as subordinates, he tried to seal our power away entirely. But that meant he never truly controlled our lifelines through the system laws. Zeus exploited that loophole, stayed hidden, and eventually gathered enough power to strike back."
"I see. A classic structural oversight," Seito smiled smoothly.
"Yep! And once father fell, the authority split, which brings us to today," Hestia cheered, her brief historical melancholy vanishing as she playfully patted her chest again.
"Anyway! Now that I finally have my clearance, I'm heading down to the lower world to find some incredibly talented children and build the ultimate Familia! What about you, Space God-King? Are you planning to descend too?"
Seito looked at the energetic goddess and chuckled. "I might just drop by to look around. The lower world sounds like it's about to get very interesting."
