Chapter 182: Sae Chabashira: "I Didn't Realize You Were This Strong."
...
Seito's mouth twitched.
Were these guys really planning to put him on trial? And for what, exactly? He glanced at the two girls beside him, his gaze finally settling on Umaru Doma. It's definitely because of her that the FFF Inquisition marked me.
However...
"Don't tell me you've been tailing us since first thing this morning?" Seito gave them a dead-fish stare.
"Hmph! What if we have?" Inquisitor A replied coldly.
Seito expressionlessly pulled out his phone. "Hello? Is this the police?"
The FFF Inquisition: "..."
Holy crap! This kid doesn't play by the rules!
"Wait! Stop!" Inquisitor A scrambled to halt Seito. If that call actually went through, they'd all be finished.
Seito naturally tucked his phone back away. These guys were persistent as hell, following them the entire way. If it hadn't been for the constant attention the crowds were paying to him and Umaru, he would have spotted these weirdos ages ago.
With a look of pure disdain, Seito cracked his neck.
"What's wrong? Is the mighty FFF Inquisition actually scared?"
"Isn't it perfectly reasonable for me to have two girlfriends at once?"
"Sigh... poor single dogs. You'll never understand the joy of having a girlfriend~"
The FFF Inquisition: "??!!!"
In an instant, every single member felt like they'd taken a critical hit. Seito's words were lethal. What do you mean 'single dogs'?! We are Single Nobles! We are the Great FFF Inquisition! The glorious organization fighting against the tyranny of couples everywhere!
Beside him, Eriri and Umaru both felt their faces flush. What 'two girlfriends'?! Even though they knew Seito was just mocking the opposition, hearing it put so bluntly still made them incredibly bashful.
"Enough talk. Come on, then!" Seito shed his coat and loosened his tie.
The Inquisition didn't hesitate. "Brothers! Charge!"
"Sentence him! This man must be executed!"
"Argh! Normies! All normies are heretics!"
"KILL!!!"
A brief "exercise" later...
Looking at the members of the FFF Inquisition groaning on the ground around him, Seito's expression was one of mockery. These guys actually thought they could catch me? They vastly underestimated who they were dealing with.
He picked up his coat, shook off the dust, and draped it over his shoulders. Then, he took the bags of food from Eriri and Umaru's hands.
"Let's go," Seito said, setting off. The two girls followed closely behind. After a leisurely stroll across two blocks, the three finally returned to the ryokan.
At the entrance, Shizuka Hiratsuka spotted them and quickly stepped forward. She scanned the three of them up and down before asking, "Were you three together all morning?"
"Yeah," Seito nodded.
"Good. I was worried something had happened to them." Shizuka let out a long sigh of relief. Generally, teachers did a roll call every morning, noon, and night to ensure no one went missing. The absence of Umaru and Eriri had caused quite a bit of anxiety among the faculty.
However, knowing they were with Seito, Shizuka wasn't worried at all. In this world, there was almost no one capable of hurting him.
"Shizuka-sensei, let's head back in," Seito said with a smile.
"Mmh."
They entered the ryokan, and Eriri and Umaru bid Seito farewell. Seito followed Shizuka up to the second floor. Entering her room, he set the food containers on the table.
"Try some of this Shandong cuisine. The taste is excellent. There were quite a few leftovers from lunch, but most of it was untouched." Seito sat down naturally.
"No problem." Shizuka nodded and picked up her chopsticks. "It's delicious."
"Hehe. Well then, don't I deserve a reward?"
"What kind of reward are you looking for?"
"A duel, of course!"
One hour later...
Sae Chabashira, puffing on a slender lady's cigarette, arrived on the second floor. She had come to chat with Shizuka.
However, as she stopped in front of Shizuka's door, she suddenly heard the commotion inside. Her hand froze mid-motion. She listened intently for a moment...
"I knew those two were up to something..."
Shaking her head helplessly, Sae turned to leave. Best not to disturb them.
Two more hours passed...
As Seito was coming downstairs, he happened to run right into Sae Chabashira. He could see the sheer shock lingering in her beautiful eyes, which left him utterly confused. What do I have that's so shocking?
"Sae-sensei," Seito greeted her.
"Mmh," Sae responded flatly. It wasn't until Seito was about to pass her that she spoke up softly: "I didn't realize you were... this strong."
"Cough! Cough!!"
Seito was nearly floored by that remark. He scratched his head, his eyes darting around. Getting caught red-handed was, well, a bit awkward.
But this was Seito. After two seconds of embarrassment, his face returned to a calm, proud composure. "That's nothing, really. If I go all out, I can fight the enemy for a day and a night!"
A day and a night? Are you a bull? No, even a bull isn't that fierce! Sae complained internally.
Just then, Seito stepped closer. "Sae-sensei, I actually want to live in a Crystal Palace."
"And what does that have to do with me?" Sae replied tonelessly.
"It has everything to do with you!" Seito said with a straight face. "I have to build a Crystal Palace. A single person simply can't handle a 'battle' with me for long."
"Heh. You can try to conquer me if you want, but I—"
"Then I won't be polite!"
"..."
While Sae was still dazed, Seito swept her up into his arms and headed back toward Shizuka's room.
If there are three people... a game of "Fight the Landlord" is much more appropriate!
Straight flushes and Big Jokers all around!
Night fell. Inside the canteen.
Most students were out eating in the city, so only a few remained at the ryokan. Maple and Risa Shiramine were among them.
"I feel like I haven't seen Seito-kun all day. I wonder where he went," Maple said, clearly missing him.
"He's probably eating out," Risa replied with a giggle. "But don't worry, you'll definitely see him when it's time for bed tonight."
