Chapter 181: Humph! Seito-kun, Are You Ready to Face Judgment?
.....
As soon as those words were uttered, the memory of being collectively thrashed by the other four classes flooded back. The group shuddered in unison, desperately shaking away the traumatic imagery.
Thump!
"We aren't the same as before! Now... we are the great FFF Inquisition!" Inquisitor D slammed the table and roared.
"Exactly!"
"We are the Inquisition now!"
"The pathetic versions of us who were bullied are dead!"
"Today, we are reborn!"
The members chimed in one after another, their spirits rallying. They were the Inquisition! Never mind the past; from now on, they would be the ones doing the "disciplining."
"But Seito really isn't someone to provoke," Inquisitor C muttered, thinking of Seito's usual unbothered expression. He felt a bit of a headache coming on.
"Don't worry, he's alone right now," Inquisitor A said calmly. With just Seito by himself, surely he couldn't turn the world upside down?
"Keep monitoring the situation," Inquisitor B concluded. The group nodded and settled back into a tense, watchful silence.
On the other side, with Seito and Umaru.
After waiting for quite a while, the door to the private booth finally pushed open. The person who walked in left them both completely stunned.
"Eriri? What are you doing here?" Seito blurted out instinctively.
That's right! The "seller" was none other than Eriri Spencer Sawamura.
Eriri froze the moment she saw the two of them. "So the buyers were you guys!"
The two of them snapped out of it. After all that mystery, the seller turned out to be a classmate. It was a bit ironic, but they didn't dwell on it.
"Why are you selling your figures?" Seito knew Eriri had a limited-edition Misaka Mikoto figure, but he never expected her to part with it.
Eriri's face flushed red, and she looked away huffily. "Hmph! None of your business!"
"Fine, fine." Seito gestured to the girl beside him. "This is Umaru, my neighbor from the floor above. She's the one buying your figure."
"Eh?!" Umaru squeaked, caught off guard by Seito's directness. She had assumed the seller would be a stranger, so buying it in person wouldn't be a big deal. But now... the seller was someone from her own school! They'd be seeing each other all the time.
Seito had basically sold her out!
"Y-yes! It's me." Umaru had no choice but to bite the bullet and own it.
Eriri nodded and handed over the bag. Umaru took it and peeked inside. The moment she saw the "Railgun" figure, her eyes sparkled like stars.
"This is the one!" Umaru squinted happily. The limited edition was finally hers!
A moment later, Umaru looked at Eriri. "Let's complete the transaction at the price we discussed."
"Sure." Eriri didn't object. The exchange of cash for goods was swift.
Clutching her prize, Umaru suddenly remembered something and leaned toward Eriri. "Um... Eriri-san, please don't tell the other students about... this side of me."
Eriri understood instantly. She and Umaru were cut from the same cloth—she certainly didn't want anyone knowing about her secret life as a doujinshi artist either.
"Don't worry," Eriri smiled, giving her a thumbs-up. Umaru breathed a sigh of relief.
"Since we're out, why don't we grab lunch? My treat," Seito suggested with a smile.
"Sounds good to me," Umaru agreed.
Hearing Seito's offer, Eriri's tsundere side flared up. "Hmph! Well, I don't have anything better to do this morning, so I guess I'll listen to you."
The three of them left the booth. Feeling a bit awkward for not ordering anything earlier, Eriri left 200 RMB for the shopkeeper, making the owner very happy.
As they stepped out, the Inquisition members scrambled out of their booth.
"Dammit! That guy is out with two beautiful girls!"
Creeaaaak—
Inquisitor A gripped the doorframe so hard his knuckles turned white with envy. "This man must be judged!"
"He must face trial," Inquisitor B added coldly. The rest nodded in agreement. They were intensely jealous, but they dared not show it; if any of their fellow inquisitors suspected them of wanting to be "normies," they'd be the ones on the chopping block!
The morning passed quickly. Seito took the two girls to an amusement park, where they ate, played, and hit every major attraction. The girls were having a blast.
Checking the time, Seito saw it was noon.
"Let's go. I saw a Shandong-style restaurant just outside the park. Let's see if the food is any good."
"Okay!"
"Mmh."
Seito led the way out of the park with Umaru and Eriri right behind him. They entered the restaurant, got a private room, and ordered a feast. They spent nearly an hour eating, and even then, there were plenty of leftovers.
Adhering to his principle of not wasting food, Seito had them packed to go.
"I'm so full~" Eriri said with satisfaction as they stepped out.
"I feel like I'm going to gain weight again," Umaru muttered, rubbing her stomach.
"Since when do you care about that?" Seito couldn't help but tease. At home, she lived on fried chicken and "Cola-flavored happiness water," yet she never seemed to gain an ounce.
"Hehe, just making a casual observation~" Umaru giggled.
"What now? Heading back?" Eriri asked.
"Yeah, let's head back," Seito nodded.
They walked for quite a while toward the ryokan. They were only two blocks away when...
Whoosh—!
A crowd of figures draped in black cloaks suddenly appeared, surrounding the three of them. Umaru and Eriri shrieked and instinctively ducked behind Seito.
Seito's mouth twitched uncontrollably.
Dammit, why are the Class C FFF guys here?
Before he could process the absurdity, one of the inquisitors stepped forward.
"Humph! Seito-kun, are you ready to face judgment?"
