Chapter 109: The Luck of the Goddess of Fortune is Just Too Defiant! The Gap is Too Large!
.....
"Upgrade conditions?"
Except for Sora and Shiro, everyone froze when they saw the information on Seito's gear.
Upgrade? Was Golden quality not the highest grade in God's Domain? Was there actually another tier above Gold? Everyone looked at each other in bewilderment before finally turning their collective gaze toward Seito.
"Back during the first event, the reward I obtained was the 'Breath of God.' That reward directly modified my character panel and raised the upper limit for the equipment I can craft," Seito explained as he put away the Spatial Dragon Ring.
Hearing this, Maple and Sally had a moment of realization. They had been following Seito since that first event, so they were already somewhat familiar with his unique situation. The others, however, were hearing this for the first time. With Seito's explanation, they finally understood the mechanics behind his growth.
Slipping the Spatial Dragon Ring onto his right index finger, Seito couldn't help but let out a satisfied smile. This ring was truly a treasure. The enhancement to his set effects put him in a fantastic mood. Usually, when he farmed for speed values, most drops were only in the single digits; only rarely would he hit a jackpot of thousands. Now that the set effect was strengthened, his efficiency would skyrocket.
He wondered what the effect would be once he gathered all five pieces and upgraded them into artifacts. Seito didn't plan to upgrade the ring immediately. After all, the Spatial Dragon Blade required constant "nourishment"—he had to spend 100 Divine Power daily just to maintain its unique traits. However, his total Divine Power was nearing 200. It wouldn't be long before he could spare enough to nurture the Spatial Dragon Ring into a true artifact.
Turning to the group, Seito smiled. "Let's go. Time to catch some pets in the wild."
With a wave of his hand, he used Kamui to release everyone back into the world.
Twenty minutes later...
The group arrived at a sprawling plain in the wilderness. Seito scanned the surroundings. The lush green grass carried a faint, sweet fragrance mixed with the scent of fresh earth, giving the area a refreshing atmosphere.
Looking straight ahead, they saw a natural lake. In and around the water stood countless small pets. All sorts of creatures were running and playing across the meadows, completely unbothered by the sudden appearance of Seito and his group.

Most of the pets were catchable, but Seito and his team had no use for them. White-quality pets were a dime a dozen in the wild. Only Blue-quality pets or higher were worth their time.
"Split up and search. If you find anything Green-quality or higher, catch it immediately. Ignore the White and Green ones," Seito instructed.
The group scattered into the herds of pets. The creatures watched them with large, curious eyes, appearing incredibly docile and cute. After walking for a while, Seito's mouth twitched. He had seen at least a hundred pets, but they were all White-quality. Occasionally, he'd spot a Green one, which left him feeling utterly speechless. Blue-quality pets were clearly much harder to find in the wild than he had anticipated.
Feeling a bit disappointed, Seito headed back to the meeting point. He found that everyone except Maple had already returned, all looking equally dejected.
"It seems we oversimplified things," Seito said with a sigh.
"Don't worry," Sora grinned, patting Seito on the shoulder. "Our Goddess of Luck hasn't come back yet."
"True." Seito adjusted his mindset. Just because they were unlucky didn't mean the "Luck Goddess" would be.
They waited for about ten minutes until Maple returned, cradling two "teardrop-shaped" pets in her arms.
"Look, everyone!" Maple shared the pets' info panels.

The group stared in shock. As expected of the Goddess of Luck! While everyone else came back empty-handed, she had snagged two Blue-quality pets.
Whoosh—!
Before anyone could react, two sea-blue rings shot out from the pets' heads and flew into Maple's hands.
[Pet Ring]: Allows a designated pet to enter the ring for rest.
Seito rubbed his chin. In the anime, when Maple and Sally hatched their pets, the eggshells turned into rings called "Bridges of Affection" that allowed them to contract monsters. It seemed that in God's Domain, they functioned as Pet Rings.
"Maple, put those rings away. Let's move to the next spot and explore more of Floor 25,"
Seito said. Two pets were nowhere near enough. They needed to catch more so they could make a killing back at the safe zone.
"Okay! ~( ̄▽ ̄~)~" Maple was beaming with joy.
The others glanced at each other, the same thought echoing in their minds: Evil, overpowered luck!
Half an hour later...
The group had moved to a new area. However, they soon discovered that Maple was the only one consistently returning with a full haul. Aside from Shoko, who managed to catch a single Blue-quality pet, the rest of them remained empty-handed.
It was a stark reminder that you really can't compare luck between people.
"I'm starting to get used to it," Seito sighed helplessly. Being around Maple was the ultimate test of one's own fortune—and it was quite soul-crushing.
However, as he looked at the ten or so rings in his hand, Seito's lips curled upward. Even if his own luck was garbage, relying on Maple had netted them a bunch of Blue-quality pets. Several million gold coins were already as good as in his pocket!
