I woke up early in the morning and the first thing I noticed was the scent of lavender and candles in the air. Since I didn't want to disturb the rest of the people within the castle. I moved the dark red window blinds and watched the people of the town go about their lives.
They looked happy and busy with their lives. From what I saw I didn't see any homeless civilians. They were all dressed impeccably with clean clothes and styled hairstyles with shiny oils.
Maybe this town didn't have them or maybe they were hidden far away from the town's centre. Since the castle I was staying in was in the richest part of the city.
There could possibly be lazy drunks or poor folk in the outer circle of the town near the tall, stone walls that circled and protected the town from monsters and invaders.
Anyways the people looked happy from what I could tell. I would only find out more if I went out and found out for myself.
As time passed by I was lost in my thoughts, while I enjoyed and appreciated the vibrant view of life. I then heard a knock on the door.
"Knock, knock, Sir Sage breakfast will be ready soon and a change of clothes has already been prepared."
" Lord Gunther and Lady Rose have instructed me to inform you that they would appreciate it if you could join them for breakfast with lady Cynthia."
"Sure come in."
One of the maids of the castle opened the door. Then they walked in, another was a step behind following her in my room.
"Allow me to introduce my name is Lucy and this is Ruby."
The maid doing the introduction Lucy was about 5 feet and 8 inches. She had minimal makeup on her face. With dirty blonde hair tied back with simple braids. She was a teenager aged somewhere around 17 to 19 years old. With light orange freckles covering her face and arms. A bright shine in her eyes, a straight tall nose and a wide smile with a few crooked teeth though they didn't take away from her overall appearance. It just made her more friendly and approachable. She seemed human from what I could tell.
The maid who followed her named Ruby, was shorter, around 5 feet and 4 inches. A cute pixie cut with her bangs covering one eye she looked shy. Switching her gaze from me then to Lucy. She had a cute button nose and only had a small light smile. Aged about 14 or 16 years old. She looked like a little sister you wanted to protect from harm and any wrongdoings.
"Good day Sir Sage and a good morning."
Lucky elbows Ruby very lightly. Ruby blinked a couple times with a confused face. Then she nodded her head and then whispered.
"Good....morning…. Sir….. Sage."
Lucky then looks happy and hugs Ruby and said
"You did a good job now! That wasn't so hard was it?!"
Ruby replies.
"Uh-huh…. Easy"
While replying Ruby nods and shows a peace sign with her right hand with two fingers and a big shy smile on her face.
As I watch the early morning entertainment. After a few moments of their excitement and hugging, they seem to notice my presence within the room.
This seems to remind them of their duty.
Lucy then bows and says.
" We're sorry for wasting your time Sir, it's just that I'm teaching Ruby the ropes of being a maid. Since she doesn't get exposed to new people within the castle often, she's a bit shy."
Then Lucy straightens her posture and lightly elbows Ruby.
Ruby made a confused face then nodded her head and whispered.
"Sorry….. sir."
I just smiled and said.
"It's okay."
Then Lucy smiled and said.
"Great, now let's get you dressed and send you off to the dining room, since we already wasted a lot of time. I'm willing to bet that everyone is waiting for you sir sage and we can't have the Lord and Lady of the house waiting too long."
Then I saw that they were confused.
"Wait, what dressed? Me? I'm not a child, I can dress myself."
I stood up tall with my chest out like a warrior ready for battle with a serious face.
I guess they didn't understand the nuance of a man. Since they just laughed at me. Keep it mind I was probably around 10 to 12 years old and quite short compared to them.
Then Ruby said with a smile.
"Hehe… cute."
Lucy followed up by saying.
"Haha yes sir you're a fine young man, but these clothes are hard to change into and lady Rose has informed us of your family and financial situation. So she made a judgement that we needed to dress you so please allow us to follow her orders. Or we'll both be punished. Right Ruby?"
"Uh-huh…. punished!
"Fine, do whatever you have to."
I stood still with my legs apart and arms up in the air as they first took off my shirt and pants. Then once I was in my underwear they gave me this white silk long sleeve T-shirt with light artistic designs. It had straps so they fixed them into place and fixed the size proportionately to my body. Then my leggings were delicately fitted on with the same artistic designs like the T-shirt. Then a leather belt was added and some padding so I looked fuller with my kneecaps and shoulders looking prominent.
Then they trimmed my hair short, styled it with some grease and added some lotion and sunscreen to my face and hands. When it was all over I looked like a silver spoon child with some rich noble parents from the medieval times. Then they fitted me with some black leather shoes with two small buckles.
As Lucy and Ruby did a thorough check of my outfit and fittings they nodded their heads and smiled.
"Okay all done now you're looking dashing and handsome."
"Uh-huh….. handsome."
"Sir Sage, let's get you to the dining room now since everyone is waiting for your arrival."
I replied.
"Uhh okay sure, let's go."
Lucy took the lead opening the door and headed out into the hallway. I followed her close behind and Ruby was following me. Ruby closed the door to my room and we walked to the dining room.
