"The question now is what are your goals? What do you desire?"
I looked at Lord Gunther for a moment then looked over to Lady Rose who was sipping on fruit juice with a smile. Then my eyes landed on Lady Cynthia. She just smiled and nodded her head like this was normal. Like it was a simple question to be answered.
I took a deep breath and then said out loud.
"I want to maintain my friendship with Lady Cynthia. I want to not worry about money or the dangers of this world. I want to become strong.
These are my goals for now."
Everyone in the room except me found my statement amusing. They were giggling and chuckling. It made me feel angry that they were laughing at my heartfelt words.
Then Lady Rose wiped her tears from her eyes and looked at me with a kind smile.
"Boy don't be angry at us, we're not laughing at you. We're just appreciating your innocent request. Your goals are extremely difficult, even though they sound simple. We know you're sincere but we also know you don't know what you just asked for."
I looked at her confused.
Then Lord Gunther slapped the table and crushed it to pieces and said.
"You dumb boy, you asked for Cynthia's friendship like it was so simple. First off Cynthia is the only daughter of Duke Albert ShadowFang. As you can tell from the name they're a house of assassins. Powerful, deadly, and arrogant. You must know that any boy seen even remotely close to her disappears with the hour."
" Your second goal, money isn't an issue, you just need to be strong enough and money just comes to you. This is simple, just train for a while and stay safe and wait until you're strong enough to earn money.
"The most difficult thing is to be worry free from the dangers of this world. Because even I, the strongest man in the territory, fear the outside world. Dragons exist, elves, dwarfs and last but surely not least demons. Boy you just want to be safe? You probably won't even make it out of this territory alive with your friendship with Cynthia. Once it becomes known that a commoner is friends with Cynthia, other nobles will be filled with jealousy and envy and then hunt you down, until you're all but bones. This world is dangerous boy and you haven't even graduated from your mother tit yet. Your goals are unrealistic, that's why they're laughable."
Lady Rose tried to sooth mood by saying.
"He means well, he's just trying to get you to understand the nature of your goals, don't take his comments to heart, he just means you need to work hard and be smart about your desires and decisions."
"Anyways, h-o-n-e-y didn't I say not to slam furniture in the castle anymore? Have my words fallen on deaf ears? Are you such a great strong man that you've forgotten your wife?"
Lady Rose cried as she pinched and twisted a piece of Lord Gunther's soft flesh.
As Lord Gunther begged for mercy and whispered sweet nothings into Lady Rose's ears as she bushed.
Cynthia patted me on the shoulder and said.
"I'm glad we can be friends, don't worry I won't let anyone bully you. Only I can bully you now."
"So my plan is first, get you adopted by uncle and auntie, then get them to train you and teach you stuff. So we can go on adventures together. Then when you're strong enough go to school. This is the only way we can be friends and you can be safe. Otherwise people will hunt you down and it would be exhausting to protect you all the time."
Then I replied.
"Wait what? Are you talking about Lady Rose and Lord Gunther? I'm okay with Lady Rose since she seems to be nice and sweet, but Lord Gunther might accidentally kill me if he's too excited."
Cynthia then replies.
"Oh please you'll be fine. Besides, who else can adopt you?"
I replied.
"But will they accept?"
Cynthia then says.
"Watch this."
She walked to Lady Rose and whispered some words into her ears. After a pause she looked over to me. I smiled at her and she then smiled back and nodded her head as she looked at Cynthia.
It seemed like she agreed. Then Cynthia whispered some more things into her ears, and then I walked over to Lord Gunther. And he was sitting there with a confused look on his face. When Cynthia leaned over and whispered into his ear after a pause, he stood up and yelled.
" Absolutely not! No way in hell! He's too weak."
Then he was pinched by both Lady Rose and Cynthia.
"Ouch, stop, stop it hurts, you can't make me accept. Over my dead body, no!"
Seeing that pain didn't worry Cynthia fell down and started crying and screaming making a scene. Lord Gunther caught her before could fall to the floor and started to rock her like a baby.
Lord Gunther said.
"It's still a no!"
Seeing that this didn't do the trick. Lady Rose started to scream and cry too.
Now both of them crying Lord Gunther looked over to me and started to apply mana pressure. This started to make me sweat and twitch. When both of the girls notice they got mad and started yelling and nagging at lord Gunther.
"How dare you pressure my best friend! Who do you think, you are uncle? That's bad, you're a bad guy. I don't like you anymore, I won't talk to you anymore you're evil, mean and nasty stupid guy! Humph."
" Honey, how dare you pressure my son! You evil I don't know you anymore! You've changed! You don't love me anymore! Who are you? Is this how you're gonna treat my beloved son?!"
Lord Gunther paused and realized his actions were inappropriate. And started to sweat when the girls made these comments. He got nervous.
After a while he then sighed and said.
"Fine you win, we'll adopt him. He can be my son Ouch, I mean our son."
Then both girls stopped acting and smiled and laughed.
"Heheh."
"Hihihi"
"Yeah we did it"
They high fived and hugged.
Lord Gunther sighed and sat down.
Then they came over to him and hugged him.
And said.
"You're the best uncle(husband)." Origin.
