Bai Feng's parents were visibly embarrassed, especially his mother, Ye Lihua, whose expression changed several times before she finally understood how awkward the situation had become.
She had invited Yun Chen into the house because she thought he was someone her son had once been close to and, after seeing him again, assumed the two had reconciled. She had not expected Bai Feng to arrive with another man, much less a man who introduced himself as his husband.
The realization made her bow her head immediately.
"Feng, I'm sorry. Your father and I really didn't know you were coming today, and you never told us that you had gotten married. When we saw Yun Chen, we thought the two of you had gotten back together."
