By late afternoon, the bedroom was finally finished.
The last of their belongings had been transferred from the old room, leaving only a few empty drawers and shelves behind. Guiying stood in front of the wardrobe while a servant placed the final box inside, then checked that his clothes had been arranged properly.
Liuxian had already gone through the room twice, changing the position of a few smaller pieces until everything was to his satisfaction.
Guiying glanced around the finished room.
The large bed sat where they had decided to place it, with the windows positioned close enough for sunlight to reach the room during the day. Their clothes now occupied the same wardrobe, and the personal belongings that had previously been scattered between different rooms had finally been brought together.
"It looks fine," Guiying said.
Liuxian looked at him. "Are you sure?"
"Yes. There is nothing else that needs changing."
