Chapter 179 - Valentine's Day

SF Chapter 179: Valentine's Day

It was February 14, 2004, Valentine's Day.

Dani appeared in his room, pushing a cart with breakfast and a few other things on it.

"Morning, girls," he said, waking up Mischa and Lexi.

"Why so early?" Lexi asked sleepily.

Mischa stretched. "Morning, Dani. What do you have there?" she said, glancing at the cart he had placed beside the bed.

"I brought breakfast and a few other little gifts for you two," he revealed.

Dani handed them two small boxes, one for each girl.

Mischa opened hers and looked slightly surprised when she saw what was inside. "Is this...?"

"Yeah. One of the times we went shopping, I noticed how long you spent admiring it," Dani said with a nod. He had bought her a bracelet and necklace from Cartier.

"I love it!" Mischa threw herself at him.

Lexi opened hers as well.

"Wow, they're beautiful!" she exclaimed when she saw the pair of earrings she had received.

"Wait, aren't those similar to the ones from that movie Lexi likes?" Mischa asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yep. Breakfast at Tiffany's, starring Audrey Hepburn," he recalled the name. "Unfortunately, I couldn't find the original ones from the movie. So I only got a similar pair..."

Lexi kissed him. "I love the present. Thanks, Dani!"

Mischa kissed him right after her.

Soon after, she started laughing, and the other two quickly joined in.

"What is it, Mischa?" Dani asked once he'd stopped laughing. He had already wrapped his arm around her bare body.

"Nothing..." she replied. "I was just thinking... who would've thought months ago that I'd be waking up on Valentine's Day with two other people?"

"And one more to arrive pretty soon..." she added.

"Yeah," he chuckled. "You looked like that poor lonely girl without any real friends—"

He was hit by her elbow.

"You have the sensitivity of a horse, you know?" she admonished him.

Dani didn't defend himself. He even added, "I have another similarity with a horse," poking her with his lower body.

"Yeah, right!" she snorted. "Little Danny isn't that impressive..."

He gasped loudly. "How dare you, Mi? Mocking Little Danny, after all the orgasms he's given you!"

"Gosh, now you have the refinement of a horse," she shot back.

But the two stopped their bickering when they saw Lexi leisurely sipping her coffee and starting to eat.

"What?" Lexi looked at them while taking another sip. "Dani bought all my favorite breakfast dishes..."

Mischa wasn't going to say anything, but then she noticed something. "Wait! The English breakfast is supposed to be my favorite!" she pointed out.

Lexi shrugged. "I was trying something different today..."

"But it's not that good," she joked.

"Yeah," Dani joined in, "what kind of crazy people think it's normal to eat tomatoes, mushrooms, and beans for breakfast?"

"Hey! You two!" Mischa put on a fake annoyed expression.

The three of them laughed again. Dani and Mischa joined Lexi for breakfast.

"See? Bacon, sausage, eggs, and toast are also part of an English breakfast," Mischa eventually returned to the subject.

"Which we Americans kept!" Dani remarked. "We just removed the more barbaric parts from our ancestors, a.k.a. the British."

"We evolved into... obesity, diabetes and heart disease! God bless America!" He struck a pose.

"But I don't like the first part," Dani added, "so let's burn all the calories afterward." He smirked.

The girls rolled their eyes.

But Mischa said, "Well, Lexi and I need to maintain our figures..." She even ran a hand over his lower body, stroking him. He was only wearing boxers.

"And after that?" Lexi inquired.

"We can go shopping, and I booked a nice restaurant for lunch," Dani proposed.

"But first, I need to stop by my sister's house to give her and Phil their present."

He went on, "Haley, Alex, and Luke thought about surprising them with a breakfast."

"I wanted to be there with them. That's why I got up earlier today..." He looked over the two girls' bodies.

"But I already told them they could do it without me, since I might not make it there in time..." His naughty hands had already started wandering.

A while later, at the Dunphys' house, Haley was holding a tray with breakfast on it.

She and her siblings were heading toward their parents' bedroom to surprise them.

[Haley, Alex and Luke commentary]

The three Dunphy siblings were sitting on the living room couch.

"We didn't do anything for our parents' anniversary, so we decided to surprise them with breakfast in bed on Valentine's Day," Alex explained what they were planning to do.

"They're impossible to buy for..." Haley remarked. "We think."

She paused for a moment before confessing, "We've never really tried..."

"And Uncle Dan will be coming over in a little while with the presents we picked out," Luke finished.

"Okay, ready?" Haley asked as soon as they reached the door.

Alex counted, "One, two, three."

On three, Luke opened the door.

They all said loudly together, "Surprise—"

But what followed were screams from both sides after they saw what was happening.

"No! Oh!"

"No!"

The three of them ran away.

"I'm sorry!" Claire yelled.

Phil even tried to deny it. "Nothing's happening!"

[Claire and Phil commentary]

The couple sat on the couch with embarrassed expressions on their faces.

"Yeah. Our kids walked in on us," Claire said with a strained expression.

Phil nodded. "We were, as they say, having sex."

His wife turned her head toward him. "That's not a euphemism, Phil."

"It's exactly what we were doing." She took a deep breath. "Having sex... in front of our children."

"Well," Phil tried to make the situation sound a little better, "they weren't there when we started."

"No." She shook her head.

"In fact, you weren't even there when we started," he added, receiving a glare from her.

[Commentary ends]

"Oh, my God! Oh, my God!" Claire exclaimed as she tried to put on her pants.

Phil dismissed her concern. "It's okay, honey. Maybe they didn't see anything."

She looked at him in astonishment. "Sweetie, they screamed."

Claire gestured toward the floor. "They dropped a tray of dishes, and they ran out of here like they were on fire."

But Phil remarked, "You were on fire, lady."

"Really? You're still going?"

"Forgive me for thinking your zesty performance deserves some praise."

"Phil, our children are downstairs right now, and they're probably traumatized."

He waved his hand dismissively again. "Oh, come on. I'm sure it's not that bad."

-------‐-----------‐-----------‐-----------‐-----------‐---------

In the Dunphys' kitchen, Alex was vigorously washing her eyes.

"I can still see it!" she said in anguish.

Haley was pacing back and forth. "I can't believe that just happened."

But then she answered her phone.

"Hey," Dani said from the other end of the line. "I'm almost there," he remarked.

"I got carried away because, you know..." One could almost hear the smirk in his voice from what he was implying.

Haley simply hung up without saying anything.

In his car, already close to his sister's house, Dani stared at his phone in annoyance.

"Hey, that was rude!"
