SF Chapter 103: Hilary's Party
A few days later, the day of Hilary's party finally arrived.
"Okay, I don't want to see you coming home drunk, understand?" Claire warned her daughter once again.
Haley groaned. "Yes, Mom. I don't even know how many times you've told me that."
"Also, be careful who you talk to and what you accept from other people," she added.
"Mom!" Haley said, covering her face with both hands.
"Relax, sis. I'll be with her," Dani said as he adjusted his jacket. He was dressed in a casual outfit.
Claire turned her head toward her brother. "Oh, that only makes it worse. That's not helping at all!" she said, making a face.
"Wow, that's insulting!" Dani leaned his head closer to her.
"Anyway, my two bodyguards will be there, and I hired two more for today. They'll all stay outside the party, but they'll be on standby if needed," he revealed.
"You already stole the phone numbers of my regular bodyguards, so here are the other two." He handed a piece of paper to his sister.
"And don't worry. It's Hilary Duff. Any alcohol will probably be hidden, and there's very little chance of anything worse, like drugs. That would be a disaster for her image," he finished, though his words didn't seem to reassure Claire very much.

"I'm so excited!" the young girl said, lightly bouncing on her bed.
"This is a top-tier party on a national level!" Haley smirked. "And Dani even bought me new clothes. He is the best!"

Daniel and Haley were already in his Lamborghini, ready to head to the party.
"Okay, here's the deal, Hay-hay," Dani said, turning to her before starting the car. "I know you haven't had your first real drink yet. If you want to drink today, you'll only drink from my drinks."
"And just a little. This is not the party for your first time drinking. There will be a lot of photographers. We don't want to see you in some kind of tabloid tomorrow."
She pouted. "I'm not that dumb, Dani. I know how to behave."
"I will not embarrass myself, or you," she added.
He ran a hand over her head. "Don't worry, my family never embarrasses me. Well… bro Alan tries really hard sometimes…"
Haley slapped his hand away and whined, "Dani, you're gonna mess my hair."
He narrowed his eyes, then smirked. "Also, I can show our awesome childhood to any new people we meet."
He pulled a few photos out of his pocket. "Besides Han and Chewbacca, I have this incredible one of you dressed as Barney - the pink dinosaur."
"Ahh-" Haley let out a scream. "Give me that! Why would you even bring these nightmares?!" she snapped.
After she finally snatched the photos from him, she remarked, "I think you would've been much better as Barney," she mocked.

Hilary had previously thrown a party that turned into a TV special, Hilary Duff's Island Birthday Bash, but that one was only for family and a few close friends.
Now she was hosting a more open party in Beverly Hills, with several celebrities from her circle showing up.
Dani and Haley stepped out of the car, and he quickly spotted Lexi and Mischa, prompting them to walk over.
"Wow, you two look beautiful," he said, greeting them with a kiss on the cheek.
"Hello," Lexi said, shaking Haley's hand.
"Hey, nice to meet you," Mischa did the same. "Mischa."
"Haley, I'm Dani's niece," she replied, trying to contain her excitement.
Seeing that, Dani stepped behind Haley and squeezed her cheeks, almost forcing her into a fish face.
"Come on, Hay-hay, just treat her normally," he remarked. "Just a skinny, beautiful girl. But troublesome, like you."
"Hey, I don't want to hear that from you!" Mischa retorted.
[Mischa and Dani Commentary]
"After that night when I went to watch a movie with Lexi and Dani in his room," Mischa said, sitting next to him,
"we hung out a few more times after that..." she paused, then continued, "...and we did some stuff."
She glared at him, since he was making a very obvious hand gesture with his fingers, making the meaning crystal clear.
[Commentary ends]
Mischa continued her teasing. "I'm sorry for you, to have him as an uncle."
"Dani is the best family I could ask for," Haley remarked, trying to pull his hands off her face.
"Fu-fu-fu. You can't use Haley to take your side and talk bad about me," he smirked. "She's too deep in my pocket. Not only do I provide her with good stuff, I also have a lot of dirt on her."
Haley crossed her arms and made a face, stepping closer to the two girls. "Unfortunately, he's right," she admitted.
"I have a lot of stories about Dani, but he's basically shameless about them," she added, frustrated.
"Yeah, I can see that," Lexi nodded, trying to be supportive.
[Haley commentary]
"I have a lot of photos that many people would consider embarrassing," Haley commented, showing some she had kept hidden in a box in her room.
"Dani as a princess when he lost a bet... Dani during his weird hipster phase... but he's not afraid of any of them."
"His most obvious weak point is still Mom," she revealed. "But Mom is like a double-edged knife. There's a big chance you'll get caught up in the punishment too."
"That said... it's not hard to get him on your side. Just make it interesting or funny," she finished.

Some time later, Dani, who had gone to grab some drinks, walked over to the table where the three girls were.
"What's with the faces?" he asked, handing out the cups.
"Boys can be a little exhausting..." Lexi replied, unfazed.
"Lexi got hit on by like four guys. Mischa, two. And I also got hit on by two," Haley explained.
"What??" Dani exclaimed, looking at each of them in turn.
Then he grinned. "I got hit on by eight girls. I win!" He struck a victory pose.
Lexi and Mischa deadpanned at him.
