Outside Infinite City, deep within the forest, the temporary gathering point of the Kirigakure army lay shrouded in oppressive silence.
The wind howled softly through the treetops, carrying with it the faint groans of wounded shinobi. The air itself felt heavy, thick with tension and anticipation.
From the edge of the shadows, the last Kirigakure scout stumbled forward. His movements were unsteady, as if he had barely escaped death. After taking two steps, he dropped to one knee before Fuguki Suikazan with a heavy thud.
His chest heaved violently. Beneath his forehead protector, his eyes still carried traces of fear—yet beneath that fear flickered something else.
Excitement.
The twisted excitement of someone who had brushed against danger… and survived.
"Lord Suikazan," he reported quickly, his voice low but urgent. "It's confirmed. The Ginza Merchant Guild's core warehouses are concentrated in the old western district. The guards are loose, and no high-level barrier activity has been detected."
He swallowed, the taste of blood lingering in his throat.
"Our sensory team verified it multiple times. There are fewer than three hundred active chakra signatures inside the city, and they're scattered irregularly, like they're guarding noble residences rather than forming a defensive network."
He paused briefly before adding,
"Some areas have weak barrier interference, but it resembles standard commercial protection—not military defenses. The noble district and main streets are… unusually quiet."
"Quiet is exactly how it should be."
Suikazan slowly turned, pulling Samehada free from the chest of a dying bounty hunter. Blood dripped heavily from the blade's jagged surface as the corpse twitched once before going still.
Samehada hummed with satisfaction, feeding stolen chakra back into its master.
"Over thirty scouts died inside that city today," Suikazan said coldly. "Two of them were even jōnin. If the Uchiha still haven't noticed us by now… that would be a miracle."
He slammed Samehada into the ground with a dull thud, a cruel grin spreading across his face.
"The Uchiha put out a 'Kill the Mist' bounty and hired wandering trash to stall us. You expect those worthless mercenaries to stop Kirigakure?"
He scoffed.
"Ever since the Senju nearly vanished, the Uchiha have grown soft. All they know is posturing and cheap tricks."
But to him—
That only proved one thing.
The Uchiha were stretched thin.
Otherwise, they would have attacked long ago.
Why rely on such humiliating tactics?
That so-called fortune in supplies…
Was like a naked treasure waiting to be claimed.
"Pass the order."
Suikazan's hand rose sharply, then cut downward.
"The entire army moves under concealment."
"Target: western warehouse district."
"Use the Hidden Mist Technique."
"Primary objective: seize all supplies."
"Secondary objective: kill every Uchiha encountered."
"Anyone who resists—kill them."
"Anyone who blocks the path—eliminate them."
The command shattered the silence.
One thousand five hundred elite Kirigakure shinobi moved at once.
They flowed through the darkness like water merging with night—like predators drawn by blood.
Under thickening mist, their forms blurred into fleeting shadows rushing toward the distant outline of Infinite City.
At the front, Suikazan led the charge, Samehada resting across his shoulder, trembling with anticipation.
Behind him, a young shinobi with shark-like features watched silently.
His golden eyes reflected one thing—
Samehada.
His name was Kisame Hoshigaki.
At the heart of Infinite City stood Ginza Tower.
On its highest level, Uchiha Anlan leaned against the railing, gazing into the northeast. In his hand, a Digi-Egg rested as his fingers traced its surface slowly.
That direction—
Marked the approach of Kirigakure's main force.
With Hyūga scouts observing through the Byakugan, there was no risk of being ambushed.
A Hyūga ninja stepped forward.
"General, the Mist forces are within three kilometers."
Mikoto moved to his side, her voice calm but urgent.
"Their numbers match our estimates—between thirteen hundred and eighteen hundred. Jūzō Biwa remains engaged elsewhere and has not moved."
Nearby, Uchiha Fugaku stood silently, his Sharingan faintly glowing.
Anlan nodded.
"Notify all units. Hold position. Wait for the signal once they enter the city."
Fugaku departed instantly.
Below—
The trap was already set.
The Mist shinobi infiltrated the city like ghosts, slipping across rooftops and walls under the cover of mist. Their chakra signatures were suppressed to the extreme, their movements silent.
Occasionally, Uchiha informants disguised as civilians collapsed without a sound, their throats slit before vanishing into fog.
Everything—
Went perfectly.
Too perfectly.
Suikazan landed atop a warehouse roof, scanning the silent district below.
No alarms.
No resistance.
No barriers.
Suspicion flickered in his mind—
But greed suppressed it.
He gave the signal.
Mist shinobi surged forward, breaking locks and entering the warehouses.
Then—
A whistle tore through the air.
Followed by—
"BOOM—!!!"
An explosion erupted at the top of Ginza Tower, blazing like a miniature sun. The shockwave tore through the mist, exposing every hidden shinobi.
At the same time—
Flames erupted across multiple warehouses.
"An ambush?!" someone shouted.
Suikazan's expression froze.
"Pull everyone out! Form battle lines—!"
Too late.
"BOOOOOM—!!!"
The warehouses detonated in sequence.
Fire burst from every direction, merging into a raging inferno. Heat waves slammed outward, throwing Mist shinobi into the air like burning debris.
The supplies—
Were fake.
The defenses—
Were fake.
The entire city—
Was a furnace.
And they—
Were the fuel.
"RETREAT! IT'S A TRAP!!"
Suikazan roared.
But his voice was drowned out.
Because the flames—
Changed.
From rooftops.
From alleys.
From the shadows themselves—
Figures appeared.
Crimson armor.
Uchiha emblems blazing.
Sharingan eyes spinning in the firelight.
Hands formed seals in perfect unison.
"Fire Release—"
A hundred voices roared as one.
"—Great Dragon Fire Technique!!!"
ROOOOOAR—!!!
Hundreds of flame dragons erupted into the sky.
Their bodies twisted with blazing chakra, devouring surrounding fire as they grew larger and more violent.
The sky burned.
The city roared.
The dragons descended.
Fire answered fire.
Explosions merged with dragon cries.
The entire night sky over Infinite City was consumed by a frenzied dance of flame.
The hunt—
Had begun.
And within the burning city—
The slaughter started.
