Chapter 13 - Caught Stealing

--Mid-Wilshire Station--

I was sitting in the briefing room waiting for the last few people to trickle into the room When Sgt. Grey walked in and sat down in Nolan's typical spot in the front. When Nolan sped walked in he saw Grey sitting down in his seat. About to question Grey about what's going on Grey spoke first.

"Oh, no, Officer Nolan. You will be leading roll call this morning."

"Sir?"

"I didn't stutter. Get up there."

As Nolan approached the podium the officers started to laugh and heckle him.

"What now?"

"The clipboard." Grey directed him to with a wave of his hand.

"Uh, "Memo to all divisions from the Chief of Police. Complaints about police officer entitlement have risen sharply during the last few months."

Grey raised his hand "Sir?" Nolan said calling on Grey.

"Do you know what that means? Police officer entitlement?"

"I assume it has to do with unauthorized perks. Free food, things of that nature."

"And what is LAPD's policy on gratuities?"

"No officer shall receive any gratuity, gift, favor, or promise thereof, as it may result in, or be perceived as, payment in exchange for influence, bias, or direction of an investigation or enforcement of punishable offenses."

"Nicely done. Chen, West, Alverez, will you please join Officer Nolan up front?" We stand up and walk to the front and stand shoulder to shoulder as Grey addresses us.

"Have your training officers discussed this policy with you?"

"Yes, sir." We all said together.

"And what was your takeaway?"

"Sir, if I may?" Lopez cut in before anyone could say anything to Grey's question.

"Oh, sounds like a little CYA." Grey said while turning to face the back of the room.

"No, sir. Boot and I walk the straight and narrow. But businesses like having cops around. A half-priced meal every once in a while is just community relations." She said with Tim adding is 2 cents in.

"It doesn't mean we show them favoritism."

"You agree with this, Officer Bishop?"

"I'm not saying I've never accepted a free cup of coffee, but it's usually the exception, not the norm."

"What about you, Officer Nolan?" Grey asked turning away from the back after Bishop finished her piece.

"I got into this job to help people, not to help myself to free stuff."

"Cute line. It's a bunch of bull, but -"

"It's not."

"Really? Do you pay fair market value for that beach house you live in?"

"No, sir. But I act as caretaker for the main house when Ben is away, so technically I am exchanging services for my rent."

"And what happens when that exchange isn't enough? And your buddy gets a ticket - or worse?"

"Then he'll have to pay for his actions."

"Okay. Favors are a slippery slope, people. And so are freebies. Look, I like to keep it real in here. There is the letter of the law and there is the spirit. It is your jobs to know the difference. But make no mistake - as police officers, you have power. Usually we like to focus on the kind that you holster on your side, but the power that lives within your badge can be equally as dangerous. That's it. All right, guys. Be safe out there." Grey content with the answers he got then proceeded to dismiss us.

I left getting assigned to Nolan and Bishop helping Nolan grab our gear then we left to start patrol. After 30 minutes we get dispatched to a car crash.

"7-Adam-15, respond to single-car accident. Fourth Street Overpass."

We get there and get out walking over to a single car crashed in to the side of the bridge when Nolan asked.

"Do you think I'm compromised living at Ben's house?"

"Probably." Bishop replied before looking over and seeing a confused look on Nolan's face seeing how she answered so fast.

"You asked."

"Yeah, but I meant what I said to Sergeant Grey. If he asked me for a favor, I'd say no."

"Okay, but why even put yourself in that position? I-If it were me, I'd have to pay my own way. Like a grown-up." Bishop finishes saying right when we get to the victim and the EMTs

"Driver okay?" I asked while looking over the man.

"He's been stabbed. Left side. Looks like he passed out, then hit his head in the crash." the EMT said that was taping down the last of the gauze on the wound on his head.

"Any ID?"

"Not that I can find."

"Control, I need you to run the following plates: Five Frank Victor Alpha two seven." Bishop then called out over the radio when the EMT said he had no ID on himself.

"Car registered to Matthew Rodriguez. Date of birth 7/7/1990." Dispatch responded with name and address.

"Copy that. Send another unit to our location for an accident report. It appears Mr. Rodriguez has been the victim of an assault. We're accompanying RA to the hospital." Bishop called out on the radio before putting it away and looking at the EMT.

"We'll follow you."

We started back to the car while the EMTs loaded the man into the ambulance when Nolan started to talk about mysteries and how he expected more.

"That guy didn't get stabbed driving alone. So either it happened before he got in the car, or his attacker bolted after the accident. I've got to admit I thought there'd be more mysteries on this job."

"Be happy there aren't. The unknown is a pain in the butt."

"Sure, but still, every once in a while you want a puzzle to solve."

"Sure when th-" Before I could finish speaking the back of the ambulance burst open with the stab victim jumped out. After a second pause of we gave chase to the man.

Nolan called it while we ran after the man. "7-Adam-15, suspect - uh, victim on foot. Fourth and Cesar Chavez. Southbound." While we ran after the man he got to the edge of the bridge looked back at us before jumping the edge. We got there and look over only seeing a crushed pallet of boxes and blood smeared along the boxes where the man landed.

"Okay, now I really want to know what happened." Nolan said.

We back to the shop and Nolan starts looking up the name we were given by dispatch.

"So our vehicle is registered to Matthew Rodriguez, but our stabbing victim is not Matthew Rodriguez." Nolan said when he pulled up the profile.

"Hmm. Looks like Mr. Rodriguez has a rap sheet with gang orders. You know what those are?" Bishop said before turning to us and asking her question.

"It means a judge ordered him not to associate with gang members" Nolan answered first before I followed up with the rest of the answer.

"wear their colors, or go to their neighborhood."

Bishop nodded at our answer before she continued with her train of thought." Odds are a guy like that is connected to our John Doe stabbing."

"I thought officers were supposed to avoid making assumptions." Nolan asked

"There's a big difference between making an assumption and a likely scenario."

"Which is? Oh, let me guess. When it comes from you, it's a likely scenario."

"There's hope for you yet, Officer Nolan. Now let's pay Mr. Rodriguez a visit, and see if he can shine some light on our stabbing victim."

We pull away from the scene to head to the address listed for Matthew.

We drove for a short 5 minutes before getting to the building I looked up seeing it was the apartment Building I bought. "Aww man I own this building." Getting looks from Bishop and Nolan.

When we finally get to the apartment Nolan does the knocking.

"Matthew Rodriguez, police. Open up." Nolan speaks loudly as he knocks on the door.

I look down at the floor. "Nolan, Bishop." I said while pointing down at the floor at some blood drops.

"Ready?" Bishop asked us receiving a nod from Nolan and me. We pull guns and Nolan kicks the door into the room. We didn't get too far in when we found Matthew dead on the ground shot.

"Great just great." I threw my hands up after holstering my gun.

"Well, I guess now we know who stabbed our John Doe."

"You sound disappointed."

"No, I just thought it might be a little less cut and dry."

"Well, believe me cut and dry is a lot less paperwork." Bishop said before pulling out her radio and calling in. "7-Adam-15, we need a homicide unit at 4495 Barrington. Our John Doe is now a murder suspect." After we finish and the homicide detectives didn't need us on scene anymore we were released to go back to patrol, but got called back into the station.

We walk inside the station and before I can get too far past the stairs to second floor an officer stopped me and said I was to grab my medical bag and head up to the Captain's office.

"Alverez grab your medical bag and come up stairs. The Captain needs you in her office." Confused but worried I raced back to the shop grabbing the bag and run upstairs getting to the office to see the man from the crash earlier this shift sitting on the captain's desk.

"Officer Alverez your faster then an ambulance seeing as you are already here. This is Detective Ortiz do what you can for him to hold him over it is important." The Captain said to me.

"Uh, yes ma'am." I said surprised before getting gloves on and checking the stab wound and head injury. "I have to say that I recommend you go to the hospital. There can be damage I can't see or help with right now."

"He will be going later after the raid tonight.

By the time I had finished patching the detective up Nolan and Bishop walked into the office.

"That should hold you until you get to the hospital." I said throwing my gloves away and backing up.

"Captain."

"What's going on? That's our murder suspect." Nolan said while pointing the detective.

"Robert Ortiz. I'm sorry about the ambulance thing."

"Now get down to the briefing room you four will be joining the raid."

Ortiz doing most of the explanation about the coming raid. "I've been undercover inside La Eme for almost a year. Working my way closer to the offshoot in Boyle Heights called Ocampo Loco. They control the cash flow and then bundle the drug money and ship it back to Mexico."

"How much money are we talking?" Nolan asked

"Right now, at least a million. The word is they're gonna ship it tonight. I was about to report it when my cover was blown by, uh, Matthew Rodriguez, who tried to kill me, so I shot him in self-defense. Uh, you know the rest."

"Officer Ortiz has bravely volunteered to go back in to protect his cover and set up our tactical operation." Grey added

"Last time I was at the house, it was four halcones guarding the money. Heavy-hitters."

"We're gonna gear up heavy, position ourselves down the street, be ready to initiate a full-blown raid on the house once Ortiz gives us the signal."

"Rookies, this is your first high-level tactical operation. Let's be prepared." Andersen said before dismissing us to get ready for the raid.

I walked out of the briefing room to hit the kit room to grab the heavy plate vest and a tac helmet checking everything I had stuck to my vest. The zip ties on my back right the along with a more kitted out medical kit on my front bottom right of the vest with shotgun shells on my left front side along with the Benelli M4 I was also armed with checking the load and the breach for safe and that it is clear.

We all load up into the shops and convoy to a street away from the target house. We get down staging along the fence of a house at the start of the street. After we set up Grey starts listening to the mic on Ortiz.

After a minute of listening Grey gives us the go ahead a shoulder pat goes up the line signaling the start before we start speed walking to the house passing some men men with duffle bags heading to there car. We get to the house and stack up on the door and Jackson bangs on the door while saying.

"Police! Open the door! We have a search warrant." Before backing up out the way with Lucy swinging the ram at the door knocking it open with one hit then backs up. We start pouring into the house clearing room by room.

"Suspect ran into the back. Open door to the right. LAPD!"

"Open door. Get away from that window. Show me your hands." Nolan says to two suspects in a room then seeing the AK before Lopez comes up behind him patting his shoulder

"Step back or I'll shoot. Get down on your knees now."

"Clear!"

"You good?"

"Yeah."

Lucy and I get to the last room seeing two people in it Ortiz and a suspect.

"Hands up. Fingers behind your head. Do it now. Back up." Lucy yells ordering the suspect before zipping and pulling him out to the living room.

I go in yelling orders at Ortiz "Hands up! Interlace your fingertips behind your head." when I get behind him to zip him up I lean in a bit.

"You okay?"

"Yeah. Barely."

"We'll divert to the hospital on the way out." I whisper to him before starting to push him to the doorway yelling out "Clear! Coming out!" I get him to the other room and sit him down. We turn off the body cams when Grey starts talking.

"Rookies, special assignment. Follow me." He says as he walks away from the suspects and the TOs before making it to a room in the back with a table full of money.

"Sorry. Here's what happens now. You see, the money counters and the videographer are on their way. In the meantime, you four get to watch the money. Two people with it at all times. No selfies. Enjoy." He points at Jackson to the end of his orders before walking out I immediately start looking for a seat before sitting down looking in the moneys direction.

"Where does all this money go?" Lucy asked getting Jackson to answer her.

"Cash seized during drug raids goes back to Narcotics, where it's used again for undercover ops."

"That's more money than I've ever seen in one place."

"Physically, yes definitely the most money I have ever laid eyes on." I said to Nolan responding to his statement before Lucy listed off what she would buy.

"Can you imagine? I'd buy a car - no, a helicopter. And learn to fly it so I could avoid all the traffic."

"Yeah, that first big purchase is always tricky, right? The barber in Foxburg? He won the lottery. Bought a big, fancy boat. Ran it aground in Freeport, coked to the gills. I don't think a boat is a good idea."

"Yeah, he did do that but yes when you buy vehicles always be ready to by more then one because of maintenance on them especially super or superish cars so no thank you my new car that I got to replace my last unfortunate one is all I need and I know the needed maintenance on it so win win. and anyway I own some property here so don't need this." I said after thinking a bit and explaining to them getting looks from Nolan and Lucy.

"What about you? What would you spend it on?" Lucy asked Jackson.

"I'm not playing that game. This is drug money."

Nolan then asked him in a different way. "Come on. We're just talking. A million dollars lands on your doorstep. What do you do? Go. And don't say you'd set aside 30% for taxes."

"Um - A new car, I guess. Um, or maybe a trip. Been wanting to do a little traveling."

"Let me guess. You'd visit police departments all around the world. Learn their techniques." Lucy then said after Jackson said road trip with a knowing look.

"No."

Nolan, Lucy and I share looks before nodding mentally deciding that is what he would totally do if he got money.

Nolan and Jackson finally found seat and joined me sitting all of us having removed our helmets and set them down still talking about the money.

"I'd pay all of Henry's tuition with the money. Just so he didn't have those student loans hanging over his head."

"Yeah, they're no fun. I'll be paying mine off until I'm 60." Lucy sighed

"Yeah, well, with this money, you could pay them all off and still rent an amazing place by the ocean. Meanwhile, I couldn't afford to buy the room in the house I'm living in."

"Bet it would have got you something pretty nice back in Foxburg, though." Jackson responded to Nolan's statement about being unable to buy the house he was living in.

"Hmm. Biggest house in town and then some. Still can't get used to the cost of living in Los Angeles. It's like you have to add an extra zero to everything." Nolan then spoke up sighing.

"You know, I never really thought about money growing up. We always just had enough, you know? Yeah." Jackson said sighing as he reminisced

"That's what I thought until my parents went bankrupt when I was nine. It took a couple of really bad years before we got back up on our feet." Lucy said joining Jackson in the reminiscing

"Ah, been there. Definitely been days where I would have killed to be sitting across from this much money, there for the taking." Nolan sighed

"Hey, don't even joke about that. I've heard too many stories from my dad about cops who started filling their pockets, convincing themselves that it was a victimless crime, that they were entitled to a little extra compensation for their troubles." Jackson snapped at Nolan once he finished what he is saying.

"Okay. Well, relax. That's not us." Lucy said confidently.

"Yeah, that's what they thought at first, too. But then you take a bite of the crème brûlée, and the next thing you know, you're doing three to five for felony theft."

"Crème brûlée?"

"Never mind." Jackson froze for a second before responding to Lucy's questioning tone.

"Oh, man." Nolan groaned as he stood up and started to hop from one foot to the other.

"What?" Jackson asked confused to Nolan.

"I just I- still have to pee, but all this - I'll be right back."

After he got back he told us they were leaving us here and leaving a shop behind for us. Getting a collective groan from all of us.

We were all sitting around about 2 hours after the rest of the team left us when Jackson suddenly spoke up.

"I'd still do the job. Even if I came into money."

"That's not a shock." Nolan said in mock shock.

"You know, I would, too. You've known what you wanted to do since birth, but I just figured out. There's no way I would bail now." Lucy responded with her own answer to Jackson's unasked question before looking over to Nolan and asking what about him

"Having money makes things easier, not better."

"That's not an answer. Would you quit the job?" Lucy said repeating the question.

"And pass up on being hazed on a daily basis by training officers ten years my junior? Come on."

"I wouldn't stop if I suddenly came into a down fall of money I would still do the job I love doing this with you 3." I said getting sighs and awws from the others. We heard a car pull up causing us to straighten up fixing our vests incase its not friendly getting ready just in case before we heard someone talking.

"All right. Officers Graser and Williams arriving on the scene. 1:17 a.m., relieving four uniformed officers. What are your names?" Williams says while holding the recorder then speaking to us asking for names

"Nolan, Chen, West, Alverez." Nolan speaking up.

"Anyone else that's come in or out?" She asked us.

"No, ma'am." Lucy asked.

"Great. Hit the road. We got it from here." Williams said dismissing us from the scene.

"We might never see this much money again." Lucy stopped to stated while staring at the money.

"Please I doubt that Lucy." I said starting to push her gently forward.

"Yeah, If there's ever another raid and they need someone to sit and wait until the wee hours, I have a feeling it will be us." Nolan said adding in a reason.

We got into the car getting Nolan to drive us back to the station to change and get home.

I woke up to someone banging on my door sounding like Tim I got up and opened my front door seeing Tim in uniform.

"What do you want I know I didn't miss the shift start its like 7ish I think in the morning and our shift is at 12."

"Get changed the Captain called us to pick up you four and back to the station."

"Okay give me 15." I said letting him in before running to my room to change and clean up.

"Hurry up we still need to get Lucy."

After I finished changing we headed out to the shop before he drove over to Lucy's place and picked her up heading to the station.

We get to the station seeing Jackson and Lopez there when shortly after we walk in Nolan and Bishop walk in.

"What's going on?"

"They told us to gather our Boots, same as you."

"The only reason this would be happening is if something happened to the money." I said grabbing an unused office chair then spinning in place to keep my self distracted. Which didn't last long as Andersen and Grey walked up to us with in a few minutes of Nolan and Bishop showing up.

I stopped spinning and face Andersen and Grey "We have a situation. Money counters are telling us that we're missing $250,000." Andersen said answering Bishop's earlier question.

"And you three were the only ones left alone with the money." Grey spoke up

"Well, the money counters must have made a mistake." Nolan said knowing we didn't take anything.

"There's video of them entering the garage and relieving you. And then they counted the money and got $750,000, and not a million." Grey answered Nolan's confused statement with his own evidence.

Andersen then added to see if we would admit to anything. "Let me remind you, an officer was recently convicted of third-degree official misconduct for taking $70 from a crime scene. He's serving two years behind bars. What do you think would happen to a cop who steals a quarter-million dollars?"

"But we didn't take it." Jackson said scared

"Uh, maybe the assumption was wrong. Maybe it was always $750,000." Lucy then said hoping that was the true.

"That's not what the intel shows. Guy's on the wire saying it's a million." Andersen says cutting Lucy's assumption to pieces.

"Okay, well, we can all vouch for each other. I mean -" I started to say seeing as there was always three when someone took a restroom break and that was the only reason they left.

"Not good enough. The only thing that will clear you is passing a polygraph." Grey stopped me before I could finish talking.

"Now, I can't, by law, make you take one. It would have to be strictly voluntary."

"What if we decline?" Jackson asked her nervously.

"It's grounds for suspension, pending an investigation, and possibly could lead to your termination." Grey answered Jackson very seriously.

Before anyone could speak up. " Lets get this started I know we didn't still the money." I said standing up.

"Okay. Lets go." Andersen said motioning to us before walking away and I followed first before being followed by the others.

"What am I sitting on?" I asked as I wiggled back and forth it was not very comfortable.

"A pressure pad that registers if you attempt to try to cheat the polygraph by clenching your buttocks."

"Oh, cool!" After Grey told me what it was I then tested it by clenching.

Immediately getting the tech to talk. "You just clenched.

"Cool."

Grey asking the questions started getting my attention causing me to sit up and focus. "Okay. Let's begin with a few control questions. Answer with a simple yes or no. Is your name Elena Alverez?"

"Yes."

"Do you live at ----------"

"Yes"

"Are your eyes Grey?"

"Yes."

"Did you witness anyone taking money?"

"No."

"Have you ever lied to protect another officer?"

"Yes."

"Regarding the missing money?" Andersen then asked when I said yes.

"No"

After that question I got lead out to the conference table and waited for 20 minutes maybe while they questioned the others. After a while they all returned to the conference table in the bullpen .with Grey telling us the news.

"Boots, you've all passed your polygraphs."

"But this is far from over. Go home. Detectives will contact you soon about follow-up interviews. We got to find out what happened to that money before you hit the street again." Andersen stated before dismissing us.

"Yes, ma'am. Thank you." Jackson thanked her.

"You know what I like to do after I've been suspected of a felony?" Nolan asked us.

"Uh, drink?" Jackson asked

"Damn straight. I got a stocked fridge. Anyone want to join?"

"I'm down. Lucy? Alverez?" Jackson said before asked us each.

"Yeah, it's barely lunch, and I should make use of the time off and go apartment hunting."

"I'll join you Lucy I need to get some nap time in and helping you is going to be fun too." I said as we all stood up

"Thank you but you don't have too." Lucy said to me. I shrug my shoulders before motioning on to her and after a minute we left to start hunting for her new place.

After we drove around for a bit with no luck and a nervous Lucy we ended up calling Nolan and Jackson I was leaning back with my eyes closed when they picked up.

"Hey, Lucy Elena. You're on with me and Jackson." Nolan said answering the call

"You know, if they don't find the money, we're screwed." Lucy said the first thing that came to mind.

"We were just talking about that. I keep going over it in my mind. The only thing I can think of is that money was gone long before we ever got to the garage." Nolan answered her statement.

Lucy tapped me getting me to open my eyes.

"What the hell is this guy doing?" I saw what she was talking about as a black SUV started to tail gate us.

"Wait. What?" Nolan then questioned hearing her speak on the phone.

"This black SUV. He's riding my ass" She started answering Nolan when the SUV rammed the back of the car.

"He just hit me! He looks like he's trying to run me off the road!" Lucy yelled trying to keep the car under control while I tried calling 911.

"Where are you?" Nolan urgently asked her.

"Uh, driving south on Griffith Park Drive. I just passed Mineral Wells Trail."

"LUCY BRAKES!" I yell when I see the two SUVs blocking the road.

when she slammed on the brakes her phone flew off the center breaking and causing me to jerk forward causing me to drop my phone before I could start talking to 911.

We stepped out of the car with our back up guns and started shooting at the SUVs I shot at box van while Lucy shot at the other car in front of us shooting twice before we took cover behind some rocks shooting again as they shot at us after we exchanged fire once more we took off into the woods to get distance from them.

We get into the woods a distance before hiding behind some trees I guarded while Lucy checked her ammo.

"Elena I only got two left." After she looked I looked down at mine changing out my empty magazine with the only spare I had.

"Sorry Lucy I have don't have spare mag only had the one but I got 10 rounds.

We see one of the attackers and I fired hitting him in the arm. before someone we couldn't see shot at us. We retreat up the hill we turn around firing again before running more. We hit a fence. We check our guns see them empty and turn to start running a different way but run into the three attackers.

They come up and point their guns at us yelling at us to drop them. "Drop the gun."

We put them on the ground and back up.

"What do you want?" Lucy asked

"The money you stole." one of them spoke surprising us.

"Wait your with La Eme?" I said.

"And you're with the LAPD, Officer Lucy Chen, who lives at 7214 and 1/2 Alvarado Street, apartment F and Officer Elena Alverez who lives at ------."

"How do you know all that?"

"Public records. Addresses, police reports. Damn near everything's on the net. So I already know that you were guarding our money. And 250 G's went missing. And I know you're the cop that took it."

"We- we didn't steal anything. No."

"Please Lucy. We've seen your place. Ran your credit. You need a serious cash infusion. So where's our money? You on the other hand might not need it but you might be helping her hide it so tell me where it is."

"I already told you, we don't have it."

"Tough girl, huh? Well, everybody's tough at first, until they're not. Andres. Cut her up a little." He ordered the man with the long hair to torture us as Andres pulled out a big knife. Who Lucy attacked and knocked down while I went for the other person that started to approach I start fighting and almost had him down before Franco cold cocked me in the face knocking me down and disorientating me.

"This isn't about the money, chicas. A quarter million is a rounding error on our gas budget. This is about sending a message. You can't steal from us. Even if you carry a badge."

While we were down on the ground Lucy saw the boots.

"I saw you."

"What?"

"Outside the house, right before we raided it. You were wearing those boots and carrying that duffel bag with the red stripe. Somebody tipped you off about the raid. You took the money. You got in before we hit the place. You thought no one would notice."

Getting Franco to nervously laugh at that before turning and shoot Andres then shoot at the other missing while he ran off. While he was distracted we attacked taking his legs out then working on getting the gun from him.

As we were fighting for gun control catch an elbow to the face before diving for my empty gun and nail him in the back with it when I get back up and start helping Lucy again. As I had Franco in a choke hold Lucy grabbed his pinky and jerked it hard breaking it causing him to loosen his grip and let her kick the gun away and we wrestled his arms back and giving me times to arrest him right when Nolan found us.

"Nice." Nolan commented

We looked over at him with a WTF man look. "What took you so long?" Lucy complained sitting back from Franco.

We get our empty guns and secure the others and wait for others before getting checked over my EMS then driven to the station. Meeting up with Grey waiting our turn while Tim and Bishop talked to Grey. When he finished talking to them walking to us meeting us halfway.

"And how are you two doing?" Grey asked looking between me and Lucy and my the wrap my head had.

"Oh, good. Thank you. I think I might have twisted my ankle-" Nolan starts answering before I step on his foot.

"I meant Officer Chen and Alverez , Nolan. That was good work out there."

"Thank you, sir. I'm just relieved that we found the missing money." Lucy said sounding relieved

"So I take it we're off the hook about the cash?" Nolan asked Grey.

"You are. But to be clear, at no point did anyone actually believe that four rookies knew how to smuggle a quarter mil in cash out of a crime scene. But good work."

We then left I was heading home before getting a call from Lucy asking me to come over to her new place.

"Hey" I got greeted by Lucy after a second of knocking on the door.

"Yo. Ah, I see you claimed my recently cleared apartment." I greeted her then Jackson after she let me in to the apartment.

I walk in and see Jackson on his knees working on the big blood stain in a rug on the floor.

"At least I didn't have to clean that." I said to them when I pointing at it.

"Thank you for the really good rate you gave me." Lucy hugged me before handing me gloves and a brush. "But, you know sisters help sisters." I sigh before going over and dropping the brush and start filling trash bags with all the gross things and stuff she might not keep.
