The mastermind behind the Hunter organization, thoroughly spooked by Ash's brutally ruthless tactics, temporarily suspended all operations against him. If Ash had known, he probably would have just smirked in contempt.
Meanwhile, Ash and his group were temporarily staying at the Sasaki estate to help Mr. and Mrs. Sasaki resolve their Hunter problem. As for Team Rocket? After James pulled off yet another successful escape, they had temporarily retreated.
"It's so wonderful. If only Young Master James could be as straightforward as you, Master Ash."
Jessiebelle, James's fiancée. She looked exactly like Jessie, yet she was a terrifying fiancée obsessed with training James. Her goal was to mold James into a true gentleman, even if her training methods were... somewhat horrifying.
"I can't say I agree with your training methods. Using that kind of approach back then definitely left James with a lot of psychological trauma..."
Because Jessiebelle's face was practically identical to Jessie's, Ash felt her violent tendencies meant she and Jessie had to be related.
"Excuse me, Miss Jessiebelle. Do you happen to have any relatives who look exactly like you? You saw that woman with James earlier—she looks almost identical to you."
Before Ash could even ask, Misty beat him to the punch, even though it was perhaps a bit impolite.
Her question caused Jessiebelle and the Sasakis to pause. Then, it clicked. It really was true.
"Now that you mention it, Misty... that woman next to James really did look like Jessiebelle, didn't she?" Mrs. Sasaki recalled the face of the woman without the veil and finally realized it. She had been so overjoyed about James coming home that she entirely overlooked that detail.
"Now that you point it out, you're right!" Alerted by Misty, Jessiebelle also noticed the discrepancy. After a moment of thought, she said, "Actually, our family does have a relative. Or rather, she was my aunt. Her name was Miyamoto. She had a daughter named Jessie... but I've never actually met her."
"Hmm..."
Hearing Jessiebelle say this, Ash and the others instantly understood. So they really are relatives!
"Ahem, Miss Jessiebelle, the woman next to James is named Jessie..."
"Eh? Are you saying my cousin is trying to steal my man?!"
Jessiebelle never expected such a coincidence. That woman was her relative!
Regarding Jessiebelle's worries, Ash thought for a second and said, "I wouldn't call it stealing, at least not yet. But if that's the case, Uncle and Auntie Sasaki, have you considered just letting James marry both of them?"
"Of course, that's not a problem! In fact, we'd prefer it that way! If only James could be more like you, Ash, we wouldn't have to worry so much. Sigh... he's always been a child that causes us headaches."
Hearing Mrs. Sasaki say this, Ash felt a bit speechless. "Why do I feel like you're insulting me, Auntie...?"
"No! I don't mean anything bad by it! Ash, you have to understand, as the first generation founding your own family, your duty is to branch out and grow your family tree. So, you must remember—do not use protection!"
As she spoke, Mrs. Sasaki meaningfully glanced at Misty, Suzie, and Lara, her eyes lingering specifically on Lara's stomach before letting out a disappointed sigh.
Stared at by Mrs. Sasaki, Misty, Suzie, and Lara embarrassedly turned their heads away. Misty and Suzie just blushed, having not crossed that line yet, but Lara was different. She figured Mrs. Sasaki's comment was aimed squarely at her.
"Happy!" (If Papa Ash has a baby, does that make me a big sister?)
"With how clingy you are to the Boss, even if you become a big sister, you'll probably be a terrible role model."
"Happy!" (I'm gonna smack you!)
"Eevee!" (Do you need me to babysit?)
Ash and his group settled into the Sasaki estate. After all, they needed to deal with the Pokémon Hunters next. For these scumbags who had crossed Ash's bottom line, he had no intention of letting them off easy.
Late at night, five figures appeared outside the Sasaki estate.
Outside the manor, several Pokémon Hunters were preparing to break in and steal the mirror. The squad leader whispered harshly, "Listen up! The Boss gave the order. If we fail this time, we abort all operations. The Boss is very wary of the Sasaki family. Do not cause trouble for the Boss, understand?!"
"Idiots! Are you talking that loudly because you're afraid people won't hear you?!"
Just as the squad leader was berating his four members, a Mightyena lunged out from the bushes, clamping its jaws mercilessly onto the leader's arm. Before the other four could react, a Houndoom leaped from the shadows, pinning one of them to the ground, its razor-sharp teeth hovering inches from the man's throat.
"What the hell is going on?!"
"Awoo!" (You guys are too damn noisy!)
"Roar!" (Beat 'em up!)
Before the remaining three could process what was happening, an Absol and a Primeape charged out of the darkness, pinning two of them to the dirt. When the very last Hunter tried to move, he realized a Squirtle was standing right in front of him, smirking wickedly as it pointed its rear end at his face.
PFFFFFFFT!
Struck point-blank in the face by a terrifying, radish-fueled, earth-shattering fart, this particular Hunter was fortunate enough to immediately pass out. As for why he was fortunate...
"ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA!"
Watching their comrade get absolutely pummeled in the face by Primeape's flurry of punches, the other Hunters swallowed hard. It was just too brutal.
"Not sleeping in the middle of the night... don't you guys think that's incredibly rude?"
When Ash walked out wearing pajamas and hugging a pillow, the Hunter squad leader knew they were dead meat.
"Now then, would you gentlemen care to explain why you're here in the middle of the night? ...Actually, forget it. There's only one thing I really want to do right now. Beat them!"
What followed was an inhumane, one-sided beatdown of the Pokémon Hunters. While Pikachu, Meowth, and the others were delivering the thrashing, Misty, Suzie, and Lara walked over.
Misty looked at the Hunters getting pummeled and asked Ash, "Is it already taken care of?"
"Yeah, it's that simple. Uncle Sasaki just doesn't know who the mastermind is yet, so he couldn't act rashly. Alright, go back to sleep. Lack of sleep is a girl's worst enemy."
Hearing Ash say that, Misty checked her watch. "It really is late. But what about you, Ash?"
Seeing Misty ask, Ash pointed at the Hunters still receiving a beatdown. "I still have some things to wrap up here. I need to handle the interrogation. Alright, hurry up and go to sleep. Momma Bewear, please go rest with Misty and the others for now."
"Eee!"
Glancing at the Stufful sleeping soundly on her back, Bewear nodded, gently ushered Misty, Suzie, and Lara along, and headed back inside.
Seeing this, Misty and the girls could only offer a parting word of advice. "Ash, make sure you get some rest soon too!"
"Don't stay up too late. A Breeder needs to take care of his own health too."
"Rest up soon, don't overwork yourself."
Warmed by their concern, Ash smiled. "Don't worry. Go on, get some sleep."
Once Misty and the girls were gone, Ash's expression darkened completely as he looked at the Pokémon Hunters. "Now then... let's continue. For the crime of ruining my sleep with my girlfriends... I hope you're prepared for the consequences."
