Chapter 196 - Chapter 196 Charizard X

"ROAAARRR!"

The two sudden roars instantly drew the attention of all the brawling Pokémon. Then, they saw a Charizard and a Dragonite charging at them, fists blazing with fire.

"Disturbing the peace first thing in the morning! Today, you're going to learn some fucking manners! Charizard, Dragonite! Fire Punch! Take out that lead Scizor and Rhydon!"

"ROAARR!!"

Hearing Ash's command, Charizard and Dragonite charged their respective targets.

"The hell? Who do you think you are, kid?! Scizor, Bullet Punch!"

"Sciz!"

Commanded by its master, Scizor used its speed to close in rapidly, striking Charizard with its massive claws.

"Kid, my Scizor's speed is top-notch! Even with a type advantage, your Charizard is useless!"

BOOM! Before the biker boss even finished speaking, Charizard's Fire Punch slammed heavily into Scizor's body. And Charizard didn't stop there. Instead, he grabbed the Scizor tight. He still remembered the one lesson Ash had drilled into him ever since he was a Charmander: Double tap! Always follow up until the enemy can't stand back up!

Raised by Ash since his Charmander days, Charizard trusted his trainer implicitly. Therefore, after grabbing the nearly-unconscious Scizor, Charizard opened his jaws and unleashed a Flamethrower.

As a Steel/Bug type with a 4x weakness to Fire, Scizor was already done for after eating a Fire Punch. Even with good physical defense, the sheer gap in their power levels was insurmountable. And now, Scizor wanted to pass out but couldn't, because Charizard was holding him in place for a point-blank Flamethrower.

After a brutally agonizing, zero-distance Flamethrower, Charizard tossed the Scizor into the air.

"Roar!!" With a furious roar, Charizard unleashed a brutal Mega Kick, slamming heavily into Scizor. Finally, after being utterly devastated and sent flying, the poor creature completely lost consciousness.

"Ah! My Scizor!" Seeing his Scizor knocked out, one boss immediately ran over to check on it. The other boss, seeing his rival defeated, instantly began gloating. "Hah! I knew my Rhydon was the most reliable! Your Scizor got taken out by some random nobody!"

Holding his Scizor, the first boss glanced at his rival's Rhydon, a mocking sneer replacing his frustration. "Oh? Is that so? I think you'd better take a closer look."

"Huh? My Rhydon?!" Alerted by his rival, the man looked at his Rhydon only to realize he was screwed too. Ash's Dragonite was currently mounting Rhydon, raining down a relentless barrage of punches right into Rhydon's face.

"Awooo!" (Making so much damn noise in the morning! Didn't you know there's someone trying to sleep?!)

As he spoke, Dragonite blasted a point-blank Dragon Breath straight into Rhydon's face.

"Rhy..." (Big bro! Boss! I was wrong! I was wrong!)

"Awooo!"

With a vicious Dragon Claw to the face, Rhydon was completely knocked out. But even with Rhydon unconscious, Dragonite didn't let him off. Standing up, Dragonite unleashed a brutal tail sweep, sending Rhydon flying to the side.

"Awooo!" (Fucking scrub. Next!)

Speaking, Dragonite cast a side-eye at the other Pokémon. Met with that terrifying gaze, the other Pokémon immediately took a step back. Holy shit, this guy is an unbeatable monster!

Seeing his Rhydon beaten to a pulp, the second biker boss rushed over to check on it, then roared in grief and anger, "Everyone attack! Ignore each other for now! Take down that Dragonite!"

"Yeah! Get 'em!"

You had to hand it to these bikers, they were loyal. With a single command from their boss, they charged with their Pokémon. Meanwhile, the other gang followed their boss's lead and attacked Charizard.

Ash didn't even need to look at Dragonite's side; the enemies couldn't even scratch him. But Charizard was facing quite a crowd.

"Charizard, want to give it a try?" Calmly watching the incoming horde of Pokémon, Ash asked Charizard, who had just returned to his side.

Hearing Ash's question, Charizard smirked and nodded.

"Is that right? Very confident. Then let's see just how deep our bond runs! Charizard!"

As a unique deep-blue light radiated from both Ash and Charizard, Charizard formed a cocoon of light amidst a roar, which then shattered!

"ROAAARRR!!!" With Charizard's resounding roar, what appeared before everyone was a black Charizard with blue flames spilling from its maw.

"W-What the hell?! Charizard... can evolve again?!" The bikers stared at Ash's Charizard in stunned silence. Having never heard of Mega Evolution, they were completely dumbfounded by the sight. And Ash wasn't going to be a gentleman and wait for them to recover.

"Go, Charizard! Show them your claws, use Dragon Claw!"

"Roar!" With a roar, Charizard charged straight at his enemies. His claws, honed to razor sharpness under Ash and Meowth's guidance, were ready to be unleashed.

As a blinding light flashed on Charizard's claws, he slashed heavily into a leading Golem.

"Golem!" With a scream of pain, the Golem was sent flying backward. But Charizard looked at his own claws, pausing for a moment. His claws felt... different.

"Heh, noticed it yourself, huh?" Hearing Ash's voice, Charizard X looked at him. Ash smiled and said, "Did you forget? Before you ever practiced Dragon Claw, what was the move you always used?"

"Roar?" (Could it be?!)

"Exactly! Charizard, use Scratch!"

Scratch. An incredibly simple, basic move. A move Charizard knew since he was a Charmander. Now, he suddenly understood. What Meowth had him practicing the most wasn't Dragon Claw, or Shadow Claw... it was the most basic Scratch.

It turned out his strongest move all along was the one etched into his mind since birth. A simple Scratch.

Having figured it out, Charizard X's gaze grew sharper. He found the feeling. After achieving Bond Evolution with Ash, what was truly enhanced were those very first, foundational moves!

"That's right! From the moment we first met, everything started with your claws and your flames. The very beginning is your greatest treasure! Now, for real! Let's go, Charizard!"

"ROAAARRR!!" This time, Charizard X didn't use any flashy moves. Just a single Scratch.

In that instant, before anyone even realized what was happening, it was over. Charizard X ended the battle with the most basic move: Scratch.
