Chapter 148 - Chapter 148 There's a Certain Aura You Just Can't Copy

After confirming that everyone wanted to catch an Eevee, Ash started calling the Eevee family in Stone Town. After all, no one likes surprise visits, even if Ash was their biggest client.

"Ash? How can I help you?"

"Uncle Eevee. I'm looking to catch a few Eevees on my end, so I thought of you guys. I was hoping you could prepare a few Eevees for us when we arrive..."

"THAT'S FANTASTIC!!!"

A deafening roar of "That's fantastic!" blasted through the phone, startling Misty, Suzie, and Lara. Ash, seemingly expecting this, had already held the phone far away from his ear. Pikachu, sitting on his shoulder, thoughtfully covered Ash's ears with his paws.

"Pika-pi..." (I knew this would happen...)

"Ash, you finally understand the greatness of Eevee! I am so happy! Let me tell you, whatever you need! However many Eevees you want, it's no problem! If you want to collect the entire Eeveelution set, I fully support it! As long as you can train them well!"

Sharing a helpless look with Pikachu, Ash spoke into the phone, "Uncle. I don't have the energy to raise a rainbow Eeveelution ranger team right now. Anyway, I'm counting on you."

"No problem! We're actually hosting an Evolution Party here in a few days. I'd be absolutely thrilled if you came! It's settled! You must come pick up a few Eevees! Hahahaha! Honey! Boys! Ash finally understands the greatness of Eevee!"

"..."

Everyone was speechless listening to the voice on the phone. Ash hung up and sighed. "Seriously, can't this family of Eevee fanatics cut me some slack..."

Staring blankly at his phone, Ash was utterly speechless at Uncle Eevee's family's extreme obsession. Brock looked up at the sky, patted Ash on the shoulder, and said, "Ash, I think we better hurry to the next town. I have a feeling it's going to rain."

And sure enough, not long after, it started pouring. As they walked with their umbrellas, they debated whether they should just pitch a tent. After all, this rain looked like it could turn into a severe thunderstorm.

"Pika-pi!" (There's a house!)

"Boss, there's a house over there!"

"Hm? Perfect timing, let's go ask if we can take shelter from the rain!"

Alerted by Pikachu and Meowth, Ash and the group quickly ran toward the house. Ash didn't just barge in, but politely knocked on the door.

"Excuse me, is anyone home? We'd like to take shelter from the rain!"

The moment Ash finished speaking, the door opened. However, the person who appeared in the doorway left Misty and the others stunned. Because that person looked exactly like Lara... and she had a Pikachu following at her feet.

"There are two Laras?!"

Misty, Suzie, and Brock were shocked by this sudden development. However, Ash was different. He smiled, wrapped his arm around the real Lara, and said to the Lara in the doorway, "Although your imitation is very good, the difference between you and my Lara is still very obvious. Lara has a certain unique quality that you simply can't copy."

Hearing Ash say this, the imitation Lara seemed surprised and asked, "Oh? Then what's the difference between me and this real Lara?"

"Aura!"

The moment Ash said this, Meowth, Pikachu, and Chansey—who knew their boss perfectly—couldn't bear to watch. They knew exactly what was coming next: Ash was definitely getting headbutted.

"What aura?"

"The aura of a married woman!"

DOUNG!

After hauling the smoking, headbutted Ash into the house, Chansey sighed.

"Lucky..." (Papa Ash... seriously. He actually said it...)

"Pika-pi..." (As expected... that headbutt was unavoidable.)

Lara, who had just KO'd Ash with a headbutt, blushed furiously and scolded him, "Honestly, don't just suddenly say such embarrassing things!"

"Hahaha, well, the aura of a married woman is indeed something I can't copy. By the way, my name is Duplica. I'm the owner of this Imitation House."

Duplica, who had been imitating Lara, laughed and smoothed things over. Misty and Suzie looked at Ash and sighed helplessly.

"He really dares to say anything, doesn't he..."
