Chapter 42 - Chapter 42 Long Night

"Alright, I'm right across the hall. Call me if you need anything, or just ring for the staff. I'm going to change. Oh, and feel free to let your Pokémon out, but keep them under control. The security team here doesn't play around. See you in a bit."

With that, Ash retreated into his own quarters. When Misty, Giselle, and Yellow stepped into their suite, they were floored. It wasn't a room; it was a goddamn duplex villa. It featured a private lounge, a spiral staircase, and a balcony overlooking the ocean.

"That miser is living in pure decadence..." Giselle muttered, looking at the gold-leaf trim. Even as a rich girl, she hadn't seen this level of personalized luxury.

Misty nodded in a daze. "Pure corruption."

Yellow, ever the innocent, just beamed. "Ash is so amazing! To think he owns a ship like this."

A polite knock at the door interrupted them. A cool, professional female voice called out: "Ladies, the Boss has sent over your evening attire. May we come in?"

"Come in," Giselle said, slipping into her noble persona.

A silver-haired woman in a sleek butler's suit entered, followed by several maids pushing a rack of high-end gowns. "Please, make your selections."

In his own room, Ash stood before a full-length mirror, adjusting his tie. He couldn't help but feel the urge to complain. Why did he look like he just stepped out of a Victorian supernatural anime?

Because of his relentless training and the maturity brought on by his past-life memories, Ash didn't look like a typical kid. In a tailored black suit, he radiated a sharp, mature charm. He looked less like a Pokémon trainer and more like Sebastian Michaelis from Black Butler. Usually, the red cap and athletic gear hid this, but now? He was pure, unadulterated Noble Tier.

When the girls saw him in the hallway, they stopped in their tracks.

"Um... Ash?" Misty asked, her voice trembling slightly. "Is that really you?"

"Of course it's me. I just took off the hat and put on some real clothes."

"Are you sure it's just the clothes?!" Giselle cried. "You've completely changed your style! You've gone from miser to gothic heartthrob!"

Ash sighed, checking his cuffs. "Yeah, I'm not a fan of this suit. It hides all the muscle definition I worked so hard for."

"..." Misty and Giselle shared a look of silent disbelief.

"Alright, jokes aside," Ash said, offering his arm with a perfect, gentlemanly bow. "The outfits look great on you. Let's go explore. There are items to trade, theories to discuss, and sights to see. Shall we, ladies?"

The three girls blushed and nodded in unison. "Thank you."

The party was top-tier. Since everyone on board had passed a background check, the atmosphere was refined and friendly. People chatted about Pokémon breeding, battle strategies, or simply admired the scenery. Ash, of course, spent half the night explaining to various socialites that he was, in fact, a guest and not a high-ranking butler.

"Oh, you're not a butler? My apologies. You just have such... impeccable posture."

"It's no problem," Ash replied smoothly. "I get that a lot in this suit."

"Well, I won't interrupt your date. Good evening!"

As the socialite left, Yellow whispered, "You're really popular with the ladies."

"That's not popular, Yellow. That's a safety hazard," Giselle muttered, eyeing the trail of broken hearts Ash was inadvertently leaving behind.

"Quiet down, everyone," Ash interrupted, pointing toward the sky. "It's time for the main event: The Great Sea Firework Show. These are eco-friendly, zero-residue fireworks!"

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The night sky erupted in a kaleidoscope of colors, reflecting off the dark ocean waves. Trainers and Pokémon stood together on the deck, bathed in the glowing light.

"Everyone is so happy with their Pokémon..." Misty whispered, a soft smile on her face.

Ash looked at the scene—the harmony between humans and creatures—and felt a wave of peace. "This is it. This is the world I wanted to see. Moments like this... they're worth everything."

Pikachu:(Wow, it's beautiful! Chuchu, let's go on a proper date after this!)

Chansey:(The atmosphere is perfect. Ash-papa, can we bake cakes later?)

Bulbasaur:(The people here have kind hearts.)

Squirtle:(Let's go for a swim later!)

Beedrill:(I want to find some high-quality nectar.)

Kirlia:(Ash, hold my hand.)

Growlithe:(I'll play frisbee with you later, Ash!)

Miltank:(I want a massage on a soft bed tonight...)

Far above the atmosphere, Arceus was watching the Thousand Sunny. It looked down at the tiny speck of light on the ocean and murmured to itself.

"So, this is the reality you craved? Your wish from back then has finally come true, Aaron. Or perhaps I should call you Ash now? I'm starting to understand why you made that choice during the Trial. Heh... a world like this is indeed worth loving. Thank you, Ash. But be warned: the journey ahead won't be easy... probably."

While everyone else was enjoying the romance of the evening, Brock was currently in a different kind of paradise. He was sitting on a bench, surrounded by eight massive, shirtless sailors and their equally muscular Machokes.

"Waaaaah! Why am I surrounded by sweaty men?!"

"Hush now, Brock-boy!" A giant sailor boomed, patting Brock's shoulder with a hand the size of a ham. "Just sit back and enjoy the fireworks with us! After this, we're going to play some competitive arm-wrestling!"

"NOOOOOOOO—!"

Brock's night was going to be very, very long.
