When Misty, Giselle, and Brock followed Ash to what he called "his ship," they stood frozen. The vessel anchored before them made the SS. Anne looks like a tugboat. It wasn't just a ship; it was a floating fortress of luxury.
"This is your ship?!" They shouted in unison.
"Yep. My ship. Her name is the Thousand Sunny."
"Miser, tell me the truth," Giselle demanded, her eyes wide as she scanned the hull. "How much did this thing cost to build?" She was realizing that her understanding of Ash's wealth was barely scratching the surface. This ship was essentially a small, mobile city.
"Not that much. If I remember correctly, it was around 50 million PokéDollars."
"..."
The silence was deafening. 50 million? Not that much?
"Monopolies are terrifying..." Giselle muttered. All she could do was acknowledge that Ash's business grip on the potion industry was absolute.
Misty looked at the super-liner, feeling a bit hesitant. "Is it really okay for us to just walk on?"
"Don't worry about it. I originally had it built so my mom could go on vacations, but she turns out she doesn't like traveling much. Now I just use it as my personal transport and make some side cash by taking on passengers."
"Ash!"
A young girl's voice called out. Ash turned toward the sound, but someone was faster than him: Pikachu.
"Pika-pi!" (Chuchu!)
Ash's Pikachu bolted across the dock at breakneck speed, skidding to a halt in front of a smaller Pikachu with a flower on its ear. He immediately began showing off, acting like a total simp for the lady Pikachu. Ash watched his partner's display of romance over bros with a look of pure exhaustion. However, seeing the Pikachu named Chuchu told him exactly who was coming.
"Yellow? You're out on a journey too?"
The girl was Yellow, a young trainer Ash had adopted as a sister back in Viridian City. Yellow had an uncanny ability to bond with wild Pokémon, and since Ash was the king of the Pallet Town wilderness, the two of them had become inseparable during his training years.
"Ash! It really is you! Are you going to Porta Vista too?"
"I am! It's great to see you, Yellow. You can come with us. Everyone, let me introduce you—this is my little sister, Yellow. None of you better pick on her."
Misty looked between them, confused. "She doesn't really look like you?"
"Adoptive. We used to play together all the time back in the Viridian Forest."
"I see. Hi Yellow, I'm Misty from Cerulean City."
"I'm Giselle..."
"And I am Brock," The breeder said, his face suddenly flushing as he knelt down. "I wonder, Miss Yellow, when you grow up, would you—"
"THUNDERBOLT!"
"PIKA-CHUUUU!"
BZZZZZT!
Ash's roar was joined by a double dose of electricity from both Pikachu and Chuchu. Brock was blasted backward, charbroiled and unconscious. Ash grabbed Yellow's hand, leading her away. "Let's go. Ignore that creep. Yellow, remember: you have to protect yourself from weirdos like him when you're out in the world."
Misty and Giselle looked at Brock's smoking remains, then at each other.
"Serves him right!" They said in perfect harmony.
As they boarded, Ash pulled one of the staff members aside. "Lump that piece of charcoal onto the ship. Hand him over to the Muscle Squad. Make sure they keep a close eye on him so he doesn't harass the female guests."
"Yes, Boss!" The burly sailors replied with crisp salutes.
Once inside the Thousand Sunny, the three girls were floored. The interior wasn't just a lobby; it was a sprawling commercial district. There were shops selling high-end held items, lounges for trainers to exchange battle theories, and theaters for various performances.
"Drop your luggage off first," Ash suggested. "Then we'll explore. There's a lot to see."
Yellow, clutching Chuchu, looked around in a daze. "I didn't know the SS. Anne was this fancy..."
The other three stopped and looked at her. "What?"
"Yellow... this isn't the SS. Anne. This is the Thousand Sunny."
"Eh?! But I saw the ticket in your hand!"
Ash pulled the gold SS. Anne ticket out of his pocket and tossed it into a nearby trash can. "Oh, that? It's useless. Don't worry about it."
"Wait! Did I get on the wrong ship?! I don't have a ticket for the Thousand Sunny!" Yellow cried, looking like she was on the verge of tears.
Ash laughed and patted her head. "Don't be a dummy. This is my ship. Why would I charge my own sister for a room? Just relax."
"But..."
"No buts. It's just one more person. Go get settled. Is it okay if you three share a suite? Don't worry, the rooms are massive."
"I'm fine with it," Misty said. "Giselle? Yellow?"
"I'm no pampered princess," Giselle said, acting cool despite her excitement. Yellow nodded shyly. "I'd actually prefer to stay with everyone."
Ash turned to a nearby steward. "Prepare three Imperial Class suites for the ladies. As for the squinty-eyed guy? Leave him with the Muscle Squad. I don't want him causing trouble for the other women on board."
"Understood, Boss. We'll keep him on a short leash."
