Chapter 297 - Unexpected Visitors

He wasn't a god holding ten million units of Source Code. He was just a human who had fundamentally bonded with the raw, natural laws of the universe.

He reached his hand out toward the burning roof of the forge.

He didn't shout a spell name. He just visualized the concept of thermal energy and actively, gently pulled it backward. He didn't force it; he just coaxed the heat away from the wood.

*FSSSHHH.*

The roaring orange flames licking the roof instantly sputtered. The fire didn't vanish magically. It simply lost its heat, the flames shrinking down to harmless, smoldering embers before dying out completely. A quiet hiss of steam rose from the wet wood.

"See?" Sebastian said, dropping his hand. "Intent and control. You have to actually understand thermodynamics now. You can't just throw raw mana at a problem and expect the universe to hold your hand."

Bob looked at the extinguished fire in awe. "That was amazing, Boss. How do I learn to do that?"
