Domain Amplification.
A technique which creates a fluid-like domain around a user without any barrier and no innate technique etched inside of it. Making a hollow domain which negates every other technique upon contact.
It's a highly difficult technique to master, and many don't even know that a technique like this exists. It's also worth saying that this is the only technique, besides a real domain's sure-hit effect, which can touch Satoru Gojo and bypass his infinity.
And now I have figured it out, it was unsteady, but seeing Jogo use it, making his memories and skills mine for a little while, was enough to get a feeling for me to recreate it, though that last black flash definitely helped.
I sent a blistering punch at the special grade curse's side while another hammer layered with curse energy stopped him from dodging my attack.
Three nails were hammered inside his head in a matter of seconds after my punch connected, and Mahito almost toppled over due to the sudden pain.
It was right to say that people who don't experience much pain are usually the most prone to it, just as much as to say that Nobara Kugisaki was no rookie, she might lack physical power and that raw destruction, but her basics were refined, and more than anything, her mindset was just right to be a jujutsu sorcerer.
"Resonance."
She snapped her fingers and the three nails exploded with curse energy, doing deep soul damage to Mahito, leaving him completely disoriented.
The moment we understood that both of us could actually hurt him, the fight changed completely, and neither of us hesitated even for a second before we jumped him together.
It honestly felt so nice having someone to fight with, taking half the work out of it. And of course, it felt good doing the jumping for once.
I stepped forward first, forcing cursed energy to wrap tightly around my entire body as I maintained Domain Amplification, the sensation still unfamiliar and difficult to sustain, however, slowly I was getting the hang of it.
Since domain amplification can negate techniques on contact, it also negated Mahito's soul manipulation and actually could hurt him.
My fist landed directly on his face, making him cough a mouthful of curse blood, it wasn't even red, but black and purplish.
At the same time, Nobara circled to the side, already preparing her nails, her eyes locked onto Mahito. Gotta say that the girl had really good battlefield awareness.
She figured out that I was a complete rookie when it comes to actual fighting experience and was helping me land my fists at times, albeit with a lot of her usual sarcasm.
If only I had my special grade curse energy like earlier, I would have been doing far more damage by now.
Nobara sent a few more nails flying at him but Mahito reacted this time, moving out of the way just in time.
However, he couldn't move further before I had my fist driven at him, forcing him to block instead of reaching out, and the moment his attention shifted to me, Nobara struck again.
A nail embedded into his arm, and before he could reshape himself, she activated her technique, the resonance tearing into him in a way that visibly disrupted his form.
Mahito staggered back with visible haggardness on his face, his output was dropping, I could feel it.
His body twisted unnaturally as the damage struck deeper than the surface, and for once, he didn't recover instantly.
"You're really strong Ms. Kugisaki." I smiled, seeing the progress.
"Huff… you bet I am. You're not half bad yourself, if you cared to learn where to throw your punches, and when."
Was it wrong to say that I was getting used to her sass?
'Oh well, she has always been that sassy girl in the show,' I just shrugged it off, as long as she was helpful in this fight.
Mahito tried to retaliate, his arm stretching toward Nobara in a sudden, aggressive motion, but I was already there, Mahito had tried to attack me two more times already and it didn't work.
While domain amplification is taxing in cursed energy, especially my current smaller reserve after I sacrificed both Jogo and Dagon, and it was a bit tiring on the brain front. But the effect spoke for itself.
It blocked all of Mahito's attacks, so in this case, where he is getting his ass handed to him, the only available move for him is to take out Kugisaki first to lessen his load.
I won't let him though, intercepting him before he could reach her. My shoulder slammed into him, pushing him off balance, and I followed up with another strike, forcing him further back.
While my technique left much to be desired, I was building an instinctive intuition towards fighting the more I fought.
Nobara didn't waste the opening. She moved in again, hammer swinging as she drove another nail into him at close range, while at the same time I hit Mahito's legs to disable him.
"Resonance."
The explosion rippled through his body, distorting him violently, and for the first time since the fight began, Mahito was not healing. The damage had surpassed the point that his output had declined to a dangerous level. Healing right now meant he wouldn't be able to fight later on.
He breathed hard, panting almost, his body looked weakened after several critical strikes on him, but his eyes.
His eyes held danger, which sent alarms ringing down my system. That look was familiar, so very much familiar. It was like I was watching myself when I was getting pushed against the wall earlier.
My body froze as hairs stood on end, telling me danger ahead, and asking me to reassess whether I should approach this wounded beast recklessly or wait for him to bleed out.
Unfortunately, Nobara didn't have this instinctive intuition, she didn't even stop when I froze mid-fight. Nails ready between her fingers, she was already moving towards Mahito.
My instincts screamed, and my hands shot out at her.
I was so cautious that I didn't even see where my hand landed. It was big, and soft, and I might have squeezed it once or twice just to know that I stopped her.
"Where do you think you're touching, you bastard?" Her eyes took that sharp dangerous look which only girls could pull off.
Guilty as charged I was, but the majority of my attention was still on Mahito. I just tuned her out until I felt it.
The Spark.
Every jujutsu that exists in this world starts with a spark. A spark of cursed energy which ripples out, an indicator of sorts. Most people efficient in cursed energy manipulation can sense it.
Like how Todo before the exchange event felt that Megumi was about to use a powerful technique or move. It was intuitive.
"Oi, how long are you going to keep your hand...Hhmm~"
My hands clenched and regardless of that, I was fondling her breast; I forcefully pushed her behind me.
The moment she was behind me I let go and her hand covered her chest, eyes glaring daggers at my back, if I didn't know better, then I might have had a few nails hammered at the back of my head by now.
"You bastard..." Nobara shouted, eyes slightly misty at the action and face red from the noise she made, ready to teach this boy a lesson, when suddenly her body froze, since she felt a malicious, cursed energy erupt from the special grade curse.
Mahito's eyes were still glaring dangerously at us and finally, with a grin on his face, he opened his mouth and my instincts were proven right.
"Domain Expansion."
Hands formed inside his mouth, making signs for his domain.
Nobara's complaint and anger died down as her eyes snapped back to Mahito with the understanding of what was about to happen. Her eyes widened, body stiffened.
I knew this would happen, that's why I had not used my own domain until now. That, and I was trying to give my broken brain some rest after all those domain spamming. But, I guess I got no other option now huh...
My hands collided midway, forming a familiar sign.
"Domain Expansion."
"What !"
If earlier Nobara was stunned, then now she was bulging her eyes out. He had a domain of his own? Who was she messing with all this time?
And as if a signal was given, both of us opened our domains.
"Self-Embodiment Of Perfection..."
"Death Trade."
