Mark froze, a flicker of pity flashed through him as he saw Seren lost in her own backyard. But Mark quickly dismissed it—he didn't care. What if he was being deceived by Seren's cunning act? That shadow of suspicion took root, causing Mark to stare at Seren warily.
"Follow me, Seren. Just a few more steps," Mark said.
But Seren didn't move. Instead, she stepped in the wrong direction, toward a dark area near the boundary wall. She looked confused, glancing left and right.
"I'm lost… I don't think I'm supposed to be here," Seren whispered. She began to tremble, not from the cold, but from a fear of being lost.
Mark approached and placed his hand on Seren's shoulder to stop her from pacing. "You're in your own home, Seren. You're not lost."
Seren looked up, gazing at Mark with eyes that were beginning to well up with tears from her confusion. "Can you show me where my room is? I think… I just want to sleep. I want to wake up and find my true self."
