Chapter 3 - THE CAMPUS KING

Chapter 3: The Campus King

The fight behind the sports complex changed everything.

By the next morning, videos of Surya defeating Yash and his friends had spread across Imperial National University, Mumbai. Students who had never noticed the quiet topper now stepped aside as he walked through the corridors.

"That's Surya."

"He defeated three seniors alone."

"They say he never loses his temper."

Surya ignored every whisper and entered Classroom A-12 with his usual calm expression.

Aman was already waiting.

"I heard Yash didn't go home last night," Aman said nervously. "He's planning something big."

Surya placed his books on the desk.

"If he's looking for another fight, he'll find disappointment."

Aman shook his head.

"This time it's different."

Before Surya could ask another question, the classroom door slammed open.

Yash walked in.

His bruised face drew everyone's attention, but his eyes burned with anger.

Behind him stood six students from different departments, all known for intimidating juniors.

At their center was a tall, muscular young man wearing a black leather jacket.

His name was Vikram Malhotra.

Yash's older cousin.

The unofficial king of the campus.

Vikram scanned the classroom until his eyes met Surya's.

"So..."

"You're the boy who hit my cousin."

Surya stood up.

"He attacked first."

"I don't care who started it."

Vikram stepped closer.

"You embarrassed my family."

The classroom fell silent.

Even the professors avoided interfering with Vikram.

He leaned toward Surya.

"Meet me at the old basketball court after class."

"If you don't come..."

"...I'll make sure your friends suffer instead."

His eyes shifted toward Aman.

Fear spread across Aman's face.

Vikram smiled before turning away.

"We'll be waiting."

---

Classes felt endless.

Aman couldn't focus.

"Don't go," he pleaded.

"There will be too many of them."

Surya quietly closed his notebook.

"If I don't go, they'll target innocent students."

Aman lowered his head.

"I'll come with you."

Surya looked at him for a moment.

"You don't have to."

"I know."

"But a friend doesn't run."

For the first time, Surya nodded with respect.

---

As the sun began to set, dozens of students secretly gathered around the abandoned basketball court.

Everyone knew something big was about to happen.

Vikram stood at the center with Yash, Kabir, Rohan, and several supporters.

The moment Surya walked onto the court, complete silence fell.

Vikram cracked his knuckles.

"I'll give you one chance."

"Kneel in front of Yash and apologize."

Surya's answer was simple.

"No."

Vikram smiled.

"I was hoping you'd say that."

He rushed forward with a powerful swing.

Surya stepped aside just in time.

The punch struck the metal fence with a loud clang.

Without panicking, Surya created distance instead of charging in.

Vikram attacked again.

This time Surya blocked the strike and pushed him backward.

The crowd gasped.

"No one has ever stopped Vikram!"

Yash shouted angrily.

"All of you!"

Before the others could surround Surya, Aman stepped in front of them.

"No!"

"You wanted Surya."

"Fight him fairly."

Kabir shoved Aman aside.

Aman stumbled but got back on his feet.

"I won't let you gang up on him!"

His courage surprised everyone.

Even Surya looked back for a moment.

A faint smile crossed his face.

"Thank you."

The distraction gave Vikram another opening.

He charged again.

Surya anticipated the move, slipped to the side, and used Vikram's momentum to send him crashing into a stack of plastic chairs beside the court.

The chairs scattered across the ground.

The students erupted in disbelief.

Vikram slowly stood up, breathing heavily.

He wiped the dust from his jacket and stared at Surya.

Then, unexpectedly...

He laughed.

"Interesting."

He raised his hand, stopping Yash and the others.

"This fight ends here."

Yash looked shocked.

"But Bhai—"

"Enough!"

Vikram never took his eyes off Surya.

"You're stronger than I expected."

"This isn't over."

"When we meet again..."

"I won't underestimate you."

With that, Vikram and his group walked away, leaving the entire campus speechless.

As the crowd dispersed, a girl who had quietly watched everything stepped toward Surya.

She extended her hand.

"My name is Aditi Rao."

"I think we're going to become very good friends."

For the first time since arriving at the university, Surya accepted someone's handshake.

But from the rooftop of the engineering block, an unknown figure had recorded the entire fight.

He smiled and whispered,

"So this is Surya..."

"The game begins now."
