The moment the door closed, he leaned back against his chair and rubbed his eyes, letting out a very long sigh.
So much for trying to be nicer to her…
The moment he had handed the list to her, it was almost as if she had stopped breathing. Her face had lost all its colour.
It was like that most of the time they discussed, but this time, she even zoned out.
Was it a bad thing to hope they could at least go back to being friends?
Fickle curled up into a ball where she had left him and just stared back at him.
"Hungry?"
They just stared back at each other for a while.
The ferret had actually behaved itself around her…
That meant that his training was not for naught.
"You can run around now, no one is here." He said quietly to the creature in front of him, his eyes locked onto that of the animal's.
Fickle didn't bother moving.
Perhaps the animal was sad, he thought.
Grapes always put it in a good mood…
