The carriage came to halt in front of the mansion at the Crack of dawn.
He sighed, rubbing his eyes.
The environment was so quiet, as though everything was still asleep.
He slid out of the vehicle and nodded at the driver.
Then he entered the house. A few sounds came from the kitchen, but other than that, everywhere was silent.
He would have to see his father when it was no longer as early… and Friedrich as well.
There was no way he could have told them where he had gone to on such a short notice…
And plus, confidentiality was required of him.
His hands were sore from all the work he had been doing.
Theodore ascended the stairs that led to his room. As he reached the landing, he glanced briefly at her doorway before heading to his own room.
The hallway was dimly lit, the candles a few minutes away from dying out.
