Chapter 54 — Intrigue on Themyscira
Von-Ra hovered above the misty shore of Themyscira for hours, studying the Amazonian warriors as they patrolled the coast. Their movements were precise, disciplined, and fluid—a choreography of lethal grace that even his enhanced vision and reflexes admired.
Finally, he descended, touching down on the sand with a soft thud. The warriors noticed immediately.
"Who are you! Mortal?" one shouted, spear raised, energy gleaming at the tip.
Von-Ra raised his hands slightly, his usual confident smirk in place.
"I mean no harm…."
The warriors advanced. Swift as lightning, they surrounded him, their training evident in every step, every breath measured. Von-Ra allowed himself to be bound without resistance.
"Interesting… even their restraint is strategic. Delightful," he thought, amusement flickering in his eyes.
He was lifted and escorted through the jungle paths, waterfalls, and floating platforms toward the heart of Themyscira—the palace of Queen Hippolyta. Birds of brilliant color and luminescent flowers lined the path, but Von-Ra's attention was already elsewhere.
The Queen's Hall
The grand doors of the palace opened, revealing gleaming halls of marble and energy-infused crystal. Warriors bowed silently as Von-Ra was brought before the throne.
Standing tall in regal armor, with eyes sharp and commanding, was Queen Hippolyta. Behind her, a young Amazon observed quietly—her posture straight, the perfect curve of her body seductive but divine in regal way, her eyes curious yet calculating.
Von-Ra froze for a moment, then a grin spread across his face.
"Oh my… oh myyy…"
Diana. His childhood crush. The dream he had carried since youth—the legendary warrior of Themyscira—stood before him, alive, real, more radiant than memory or imagination could ever capture.
"Good day," Von-Ra said smoothly, bowing slightly in a mix of courtesy and confidence. "I guess you're their ruler. I am Von-Ra El."
Hippolyta's eyes narrowed.
"I am Queen Hippolyta, ruler of the Amazons. What are you doing here, Kryptonian?"
Von-Ra blinked, mildly amused.
"Huh? You know I'm a Kryptonian race?"
"Yes," Hippolyta replied, tone measured. "We fought side by side during the Cosmic War against the invaders. I am familiar with your race and its abilities."
Von-Ra's mind raced.
"Oh… she's talking about Darkseid. That invasion long ago… the movies never mentioned it. Aside from the old gods like the Olympus pantheon, only the Green Lantern managed to defend Earth that time. My future knowledge is… partially obsolete in this shared reality."
Hippolyta waited, watching him, but Von-Ra did not respond immediately. She repeated herself, her voice firmer:
"You may go now. Leave this place and do not return. Men are not allowed here. We tolerated your presence only because of your help thousands of years ago."
Von-Ra opened his mouth to respond but was interrupted.
"NO, MOM! Let him stay—for now."
All attention shifted. Von-Ra's eyes widened, and he felt his chest tighten slightly in excitement and disbelief.
"What do you mean by that, Diana?" Queen Hippolyta demanded, clearly taken aback.
Diana stepped forward, her voice firm and unwavering. she moved with the quiet grace of something not entirely mortal. Tall and radiant, her presence carried the calm authority of a forgotten goddess walking among ordinary people. Midnight-black hair, framed a face sculpted with impossible symmetry—high cheekbones, blue soft yet commanding eyes, and a gaze that seemed to weigh the soul of anyone who met it.
Her figure was a harmony of strength and beauty, the elegant curves of her form flowing with seductive yet in a natural perfection. The proud rise of her chest and the balanced lines of her body gave her the silhouette of a living statue—divine, powerful, and mesmerizing.
'damn! what is this beauty that defies the mortal realm. i'm sure empires are going to war just to defend this woman'
(AN: im sure his newly built kryptonian empire is one of those empire that will go to war just to protect Diana hehehe)
He was awake in a trance when Diana spoke.
"He looks strong. Based on the records, Kryptonians are a fighting race. I want to test his strength… perhaps even learn from him. He could train me if he's as capable as he appears."
Her gaze landed on Von-Ra, unflinching, assessing him like a true warrior.
"Our warriors no longer challenge me in combat," she added matter-of-factly.
Inside the hall, the assembled Amazons exchanged glances. Some seemed offended, others merely silent, but all recognized the truth in her words. Diana was extraordinary.
Von-Ra's grin widened, a mixture of fanboy delight and strategic calculation:
"Ah… the warrior I have admired since childhood. Unyielding, fearless, and commanding. This is… perfect. I must test her skills, measure her potential, and… perhaps indulge in a little nostalgia."
Hippolyta's frown deepened, but Diana was resolute, standing her ground.
"If he proves himself worthy, he may remain," Diana said firmly. "Otherwise, he leaves."
Von-Ra bowed slightly again, his aura calm but tinged with excitement.
"I understand, Princess. I look forward to this… encounter."
