Leo lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling.
Sleep should have come easily after such a long day…
But his mind refused to rest.
Why is Werren coming tomorrow…?
The question kept repeating.
He turned to his side, closing his eyes—but the thoughts only grew louder.
What if Werren finds out about father…?
About Seth… about everything…
Leo exhaled slowly.
"I wonder what's going to happen tomorrow…" he whispered.
His thoughts slowly began to blur as exhaustion took over.
And eventually—
He fell asleep.
The next morning—
Leo stood at the airport, waiting.
His eyes scanned the crowd as people walked past, arriving and leaving.
Then—
He saw him.
Werren.
Walking out of the terminal.
Leo hesitated for a moment before stepping forward.
"Hey… Werren," Leo said. "How are you? How was your flight?"
Werren looked at him.
"It was fine," he replied. "I'm good. What about you?"
Leo nodded.
"Yeah… I'm fine too."
But as Leo looked at him more closely, something felt off.
Werren's expression—
It was serious.
Distant.
Like he was thinking about something deeply.
Leo frowned slightly.
"Hey… is something bothering you?" Leo asked.
Werren shook his head.
"No. It's nothing."
Leo didn't push further.
"…I see."
There was a brief silence between them.
Then Leo spoke again.
"How's mother?" he asked. "Is she doing okay?"
Werren nodded.
"She's fine."
But then—
Werren suddenly asked,
"What about dad?"
Leo froze for a second.
"…What?"
"How is he?" Werren asked again. "What has he been doing these days?"
Leo's thoughts started racing.
Why is he asking this…?
Does he know something…?
Then another thought came—
No… he doesn't know.
And for a moment—
Leo felt relief.
"…Dad is doing well," Leo replied carefully.
But Werren didn't stop.
"And what exactly has he been working on?" he asked.
This time—
Leo didn't have an answer.
Or rather—
He had too many.
Seth.
The deal.
The past.
The betrayal.
Leo's grip tightened slightly.
What should I say…?
Before he could respond—
They had already reached the car.
And the conversation shifted.
Leo stayed silent.
Avoiding the question.
When they reached home—
Leo stepped out of the car.
And then—
He saw something.
Mr. Miles.
Walking out of the house.
Leo's eyes widened slightly.
At the same time—
Werren noticed him too.
"Dad!" Werren called out and immediately walked toward him.
Leo's heart skipped a beat.
Oh no…
"Why is he going to him right now…?" Leo muttered.
He stood there, frozen.
Watching.
Werren reached Mr. Miles.
"Dad, I need to ask you something," Werren said. "It's about the company. It's important."
Mr. Miles looked at him, slightly surprised.
"Werren… I'm a bit busy right now," he replied. "I have something urgent to take care of. Can we talk about it later?"
Werren paused.
"…I see," he said. "Alright. I'll wait."
Mr. Miles gave a small nod, got into his car, and drove away.
Leo let out a quiet breath.
It's about the company…
For a moment—
He felt relieved.
At least it wasn't about Seth.
At least not yet.
Werren walked inside the house.
But Leo stayed outside.
Standing alone in the garden.
His thoughts slowly returning.
Then—
A voice came from behind him.
"Hey there, Leo… how are you?"
Leo turned around.
And froze.
"…Emily?"
Emily stood there, looking at him.
There was something different about her—
Something nervous.
But also determined.
She had come to meet him.
After all this time.
That day…
The day she almost confessed her feelings…
It had ended suddenly.
Leo had left without warning.
And she never got the chance to say what she truly felt.
It had hurt her.
A lot.
After that, she had told everything to her friend, Celeste.
And even though Emily had felt unsure, Celeste encouraged her.
"There's no one in Leo's life," Celeste had said.
"You still have a chance. Just tell him how you feel."
Those words stayed with her.
And now—
She was here.
Standing in front of him again.
Leo looked at her, surprised.
"Emily… you're here," he said.
Emily smiled softly.
"Yeah," she replied. "I wanted to see you."
