Summer vacation finally began. The weather became hot. The sky was bright almost everyday. Students were happy to be free from classes.
One afternoon, I received a message. It was from Ritou.
"Do you want to go out tomorrow?"
I smiled when I read it.
"Of course", I replied.
The next day, we met at a small park near the river. The sun was shining, but a gentle wind was blowing.
Ritou was already there when I arrived.
She was wearing a light summer dress.
"You are early", I said.
She smiled.
"I just got here."
Soon Puramodo and Aarihito arrived too. Aarihito came with his girlfriend.
Puramodo waved his hand.
"Look like everyone is here."
They decided to spend the day near the river.
The water was cool and clear. We walked along the river bank.
Sometimes we threw small stones into the water.
Puramodo and Aarihito were joking loudly. There laughter filling the air.
Ritou walked beside me quickly.
The sunlight reflected on the water. It made everything look bright and peaceful.
"Summer vacation feels nice", she said.
I nodded.
"Yes. It does."
In the evening, the sky slowly turned orange. The sun began to set.
We all sat on the grass and watched the sunset.
The wind felt cooler now.
For a moment, everyone was quite.
I looked at Ritou. She was watching the sunset with calm eye. I felt so happy.
Summer break had only just began.
