"Now about college applications..." Zack's father continued, straightening his posture. Zack groaned at the mention of college applications. "Dad, not now," he complained, burying his face in his hands. "Can we not talk about something else? Like how awesome my girlfriend is?" His father chuckled and took of his tie. "She is pretty awesome," he agreed. "But that doesn't change the fact that you need to think about your future." He leans forward, is expression serious. "Look, I know you are not the best student," he said bluntly. "But with some effort, you could get into a good college." Zack peeked through his fingers. "What is the point? I will just drop out anyway," he muttered. His father shook his head firmly. "No, you won't. you are going to apply to at least three schools, and you are going to try your hardest to get in. You need a proper degree to have a future," he said sternly. Zack sat up, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "Fine," he snapped. "But only because you are making me." His father's stern expression softened into a smile. "That is my boy," he said proudly. "And maybe if you get a good scholarship, you can take Anna with you." Zack's eyes widened at that idea. "Take her with me?" he repeated, a slow grin spreading across his face. "Fuck, that would be perfect." He leaned back, already imagining the two of them in college together. "She could major in something smart, and I will... I will figure out something," he said, not sounding to concerned about his own studies. His father chuckled and stood up. "Just apply to some schools," he said, heading towards the kitchen. "The rest will work itself out."
About an hour later, Anna sent Zack a text:
Anna: "Hey family dinner is finally over. What did your dad want to talk to you about?"
Zack's phone buzzed on the coffee table, and he grabbed it eagerly. A smile spread across his face when he saw her message. He quickly typed back.
Zack: "Just the usual lecture about college and being responsible. Boring shit. But he did say something interesting. He thinks we should go to college together. Imagine me and you in a dorm room, I would fuck you on every surface."
He tossed the phone aside with a grin, already picturing it in his mind. The thought of having her all to himself, away from her family and his father... It was perfect. Anna was in her bedroom, on her unmade bed, she was seated against white pillows with her legs bent and slightly angled to one side. She has a white towel wrapped around her head, because she just had a shower. She is wearing a light grey, long sleeve satin pyjama's with dark piping along the edges. She had her phone in her right hand and was smiling at Zack's text. 'College? Dorm rooms?' Her head was spinning with ideas.
Anna: "We will have to coordinate our applications. What colleges are you thinking of applying for?"
Zack stared at her message, his brow furrowed in thought. "Coordinate our applications?" he muttered to himself. "Shit, I guess I actually have to think about this." He stood up from the couch and headed upstairs to his bedroom. He sat down at his messy desk, moved his books and comic books aside and searched the desk for a pen and notebook. Once he found them, he scribbled down a few names. "uh... Brown University?" he wrote, followed by a question mark. "Or maybe Dartmouth College or Cornell University? They have a good reputation." He knew he was just guessing, but the idea of going to college with Anna made him feel motivated for once.
Zack: "I will look into it more tomorrow, but definitely somewhere we can both get in and somewhere with private dorm rooms. I am not sharing you with anyone."
Anna smiled in response to his message. She took the towel off her head and lightly dries her curly brown hair.
Anna: "Well, we could get an apartment together. What would you study?"
Zack's eyes widen at her suggestion of an apartment. He thought about her second question, tapping the pen against his chin. "Study?" he pondered. "I don't know... Maybe business? Or something with sports?" He knew he was not the most academic person, but the thought of having her in an apartment with him was enough to make him want to try. He closed his notebook and stood up from his chair. He walked over to his bed and laid down. He positioned himself on his side, leaning on one elbow while holding the phone with both hands close to his face.
Zack: "An apartment? Fuck yeah, I like the sound of that. I will figure out what to study. As long as I am with you, I will do anything, and we can decorate it however you want. Just as long as the bed is big enough for me to fuck you on every night."
Anna: "However I want, huh? What if I want to paint the walls pink?"
Zack laughed out loud at Anna's text, shaking his head. He could just picture it- a pink bedroom with a huge bed in the centre. The thought made him grin.
Zack: "Pink walls? You are fucking kidding me, right? Fine, if that is what you want, then pink it is. But I am not sleeping on pink sheets. That is where I draw the line."
Anna: "I was kidding. Glad to see how much you love me. Heading to bed now. Feeling very tired. Your fault. Good night."
Zack felt a warm feeling spread through his chest at her words.
Zack: "Love you too, and yeah, I will take the blame for making you tired. Sweet dreams, baby, dream about me fucking you in our pink bedroom."
He tossed his phone aside and stretched out on his bed, a contented sigh escaping his lips. He closed his eyes, already picturing the future- college, an apartment with pink walls, and most importantly, her. As he drifted off to sleep, he could not help but smile. For the first time in his life, he felt like everything was finally falling into place.
