Chapter 73 - Chapter 73: Children of the Devil

One of the ways Ray pulled himself back together was running at night in the rain. But lately, that hadn't been enough. He had spent considerable time trying to find a method to suppress the urge to put a bullet in his forehead. In the end, he succeeded.

Now he stood in one of the basements. Before him stood a group of men.

Surveying them with a contemptuous gaze, Ray said calmly:

"You all know why you are here. But the truth is, you turned out to be so utterly useless that you couldn't even be sold. If you can kill me — I give you my word, you will be set free."

By this time, rumors of the "Devils" had spread across the globe. They were feared by everyone — from petty scammers to representatives of powerful organized crime syndicates. The reason for the fear was simple: they dealt with any criminals brutally and without compromise. This group understood perfectly well what awaited them. So, despite their terror of this man, they charged forward.

Unleashing the beast within, Ray threw himself at them. The very first blow took the life of one of the bastards.

Once he confirmed they were too weak, Ray began to restrain himself, methodically breaking their limbs. In studying martial arts, he hadn't just practiced strikes — he had deeply studied the structure of the human body. He knew not only how to strike, but where, and what effect each of his blows would produce. That he had discovered an incredible talent for martial arts had come as a shock not only to himself but also to those who had trained him.

It seemed the screams of pain and despair echoing through the basement brought relief not only to Ray but also to the girl silently observing the scene.

Finishing, Ray, ignoring the groans and pain-filled howls, looked at the girl and said:

"They are yours."

"Thank you very much, Father. We greatly appreciate your care," the girl replied, bowing her head respectfully.

Ray couldn't see her face, but her gaze, fixed upon him, was filled with fanatical devotion.

The girl was one of those who had survived assault at the hands of men like these. So Ray knew with absolute certainty that she and her sisters would ensure these bastards would soon envy the dead.

Such rituals had become a habit after that incident. It was far from an ideal solution. But it allowed him to vent his rage and maintain a semblance of sanity.
