Sixth Street, Video Store
Ling walked toward Hoshimi Aya with her hands clasped behind her back.
The gift she and her brother bought for Aya had finally arrived.
"Aya, the gift that my brother and I got for you is here!"
"Look! It's this one!"
As she spoke, Ling presented a bottle to Hoshimi Aya.
"Humen High-Grade Ear Essential Oil!"
Hoshimi Aya stared blankly at the item in Ling's hand and read out the label.
Wait, do ears need conditioning?!
Oh, right.
She was a Fox-Haired Person now; her long, fluffy ears definitely needed care, or they would easily develop an odor.
Ling had mentioned this to her before, but she hadn't paid attention at the time.
Now that she thought about it, other Humen knew they needed care early on and performed maintenance almost daily, whereas she, a novice, didn't really grasp the concept.
But thankfully, she hadn't noticed any strange smell these past few days.
At least, whenever Ling touched her ears at night, she never mentioned any odd scent, so there shouldn't be any.
"That's right. I spent a lot of money on this."
"Aya, quickly lie down. Let me try it on you."
Saying that, Ling opened the bottle and sat down next to Hoshimi Aya, who obediently lay down on Ling's lap.
...
At the doorway, Zhe walked in carrying a large rectangular box.
But Zhe stopped at the door of the secret room when he heard Hoshimi Aya's and Ling's voices coming from inside.
"Ling, no! It's not okay!"
Hearing this voice, Zhe's hand paused on the doorknob, and then he heard Ling's voice again.
"It's fine, Aya. Just let it out if it feels good."
"You don't need to force yourself to endure it. Don't worry, I'll be quick and gentle."
Upon hearing this, Zhe's eyes widened in shock, and then he suddenly threw the door open, "Sister, what are you..."
When Zhe opened the door, he saw that the scene was not what he had imagined, and his words died in his throat.
Hoshimi Aya was leaning on Ling's lap, while Ling was carefully grooming the fur on Hoshimi Aya's ears.
"Brother, what's wrong?"
Ling looked at the strange Zhe with confusion, not quite understanding his sudden action.
"Nothing, little sister."
"Oh, so you're conditioning Aya's ears."
Zhe let out a sigh of relief as he looked at Hoshimi Aya, whose face was flushed red from the sensitivity. He had almost been scared to death.
"Mm, Ling said my ears need care, but I don't know how."
"So Ling offered to help me."
Hoshimi Aya explained while lying on Ling's lap.
It wasn't that Hoshimi Aya didn't want to get up, but Ling had pressed her back down as soon as she tried to move.
"Brother, what is that you have!"
Ling inquired. They had all bought their items separately, so they didn't know what the other person had purchased.
"I bought a sword stand and weapon maintenance fluid."
"This way, the sword has a place to rest, and weapons also require upkeep."
"They are all practical items."
Zhe explained. He noticed that Aya hadn't bought anything to maintain her weapon and figured she might not have known about it, so he bought these for her.
As for the sword stand, it was to make placing the sword convenient, so Ling wouldn't just casually put the sword on his bookshelf anymore.
He had originally wanted to buy things Aya liked, but he didn't know what she liked. He only knew that Aya cherished that sword, so he bought these items instead.
"Thank you, I will take good care of Nine-Tails."
Hoshimi Aya said gratefully, but just as she finished speaking, she trembled slightly with a tingle.
"Oh dear, Aya, don't move around!"
"It will be over soon. It's normal to feel good."
"After all, I spent a lot of money on this."
Saying that, Ling pulled Hoshimi Aya's head, which had tried to shrink back, back into place.
"Alright, you two take your time."
"I'll take this up to my room."
Zhe said, carrying the box back to his room. As expected, Aya's sword was resting on his bookshelf.
Seeing this, Zhe opened the box, took out the sword stand, and also took out the weapon maintenance fluid.
Then, Zhe took the sword downstairs, took it out, and began maintaining the Demon Blade. As for the sword stand, he simply assembled it and placed it on the bookshelf.
