Chapter 37 - Chapter 37: Conversation 2

"If you say my loss of control wasn't caused by you, then how do you explain your earlier actions of seducing me into drawing my sword?"

"Don't tell me it was just to see the extent to which I could unleash my power!"

"Just state your purpose directly!"

Hoshimi Aya questioned. Although she wasn't sure if she should believe it, she needed an explanation for what had happened.

"Of course not. I only wanted to test whether you would lose yourself because of the power."

"Clearly, you won't."

"Besides, we should be one entity. What? You don't even believe your own words?"

Saying this, the Nine-Tailed Fox transformed into a girl identical to Hoshimi Aya, though she was still composed of black Fox Fire.

The Nine-Tailed Fox girl then wrapped her arms around Hoshimi Aya from behind and caressed her cheek.

As she was being touched, Hoshimi Aya only felt an icy cold sensation.

"I apologize. Your actions before truly make it impossible for me to trust you."

"Since you say you didn't do it, then tell me, what exactly caused me to lose control and consciousness?"

Hoshimi Aya questioned again. This time, she had to get a clear answer.

After all, opportunities to question her this closely were rare, and since the smelly fox hadn't seduced her this time, the chance was hard-won; she had to get clarity!

"Tsk!"

"Why won't you believe me, girl!"

"I already said it: we should be one entity. Questioning me is equivalent to questioning yourself."

The black figure appeared in front of Hoshimi Aya, then transformed back into the appearance of the Nine-Tailed Fox.

However, it completely avoided mentioning Hoshimi Aya's previous interrogation.

...Meanwhile

In the room, the sleeping Hoshimi Aya emitted countless black Fox Fire that burned, igniting the entire bed surface.

Simultaneously, Hoshimi Aya's hand rested on the hilt of the sword, with a small section of the blade exposed.

Not far from the bedside stood the silent Ling and Zhe.

"Sister, how about we try extinguishing this black fire with water?!"

Zhe looked at the black Fox Fire that had already set the entire bed ablaze.

When his sister called him over just now, it was already like this.

Hearing this, Ling, eager to save her, rushed out first. When she returned, she was carrying a basin of water and splashed it over the flames, but the expected extinguishing did not occur.

Instead, the water, upon contact with the black Fox Fire, crystallized into ice, emitting wisps of cold air.

Moreover, the ice gradually diminished until it completely burned away.

"Uh... Brother!"

"Are there any other reliable methods?"

Ling asked silently.

Although she desperately wanted to save Aya, this also required the right method.

"...How about we try to find a way to remove the sword first?"

"The sword is the source of Aya's loss of control after all. If we take the sword away, then these symptoms on Aya will surely disappear."

Zhe pondered.

Upon hearing this, Ling began searching the house for tools that could safely remove the demon sword, and Zhe did the same.

Just as Ling and Zhe were frantically searching, back with Hoshimi Aya...

"Can you stop the nonsense and stop constantly emphasizing that we are one entity?"

"Can you answer my question directly?!"

Hoshimi Aya looked at the Nine-Tailed Fox.

The Nine-Tails never answered the questions she asked, always using the 'we are one entity' excuse to fob her off.

"I sense your emotions."

"I sense your sadness."

"I feel you are very hurt."

"I want to help you. Perhaps only absolute power can solve everything!"

"If that's the case, why won't you accept me?!"

After the Nine-Tailed Fox finished speaking, the demon sword suddenly appeared in Hoshimi Aya's previously empty hands.

Moreover, Hoshimi Aya's hand pressed down onto the hilt uncontrollably.

"It really is you who makes me lose control."

"It seems my guess was correct..."

Saying this, Hoshimi Aya tried to push the sword down.

"Why?!!"

"Why won't you accept me?!!"

The Nine-Tailed Fox roared at Hoshimi Aya, its appearance looking somewhat frenzied.

"..."

"You really should take some time to think about why," Hoshimi Aya replied, rolling her eyes.

If the entity had chosen a moment of crisis for her, she might have agreed without a second thought.

But now... she didn't recall incorrectly, she should have been sleeping at home, right?!

Furthermore, the only two people important to her in this world were downstairs. How could she possibly accept?
