The bus rolled to a smooth stop in front of the hotel, the soft hiss of the brakes breaking through the quiet, drowsy atmosphere inside.
Most of the students stirred awake, stretching stiff limbs and blinking sleepily at their surroundings.
Ming Ye glanced down at the weight still resting against his shoulder.
"…Sister."
He reached out and tapped Zi Han lightly.
No response.
He tapped her again, a little firmer this time.
Her brows furrowed faintly before her eyes slowly fluttered open. She blinked, disoriented for a second, then let out a small yawn, lifting a hand to rub at her eyes.
"…Are we there yet?" she asked, her voice soft and thick with sleep.
"Unless you want to sleep in the bus parking lot, yes," Ming Ye teased, though his gaze was softer than usual.
She nodded vaguely, still half-asleep, and straightened up, stretching slightly as the rest of the students began filing off the bus.
