Lightning exploded across the skies above the territory while the silver-scaled creature continued rising from the abyss beneath the mountain.
Its enormous wings stretched wider than the shattered peaks surrounding the council hall, dark enough to cast shadows across the entire territory below. Ancient markings burned faintly beneath silver scales that looked older than the world itself while black mist recoiled violently away from its body as though even the darkness feared touching it.
But Ariana barely noticed any of that anymore.
Something beyond the gates had noticed her.
The sensation remained buried deep inside her chest like cold claws tightening slowly around her heart. The Sovereign flame surrounding her flickered violently for the first time since awakening while unease spread painfully through the connection she shared with the dragons above the territory.
The creatures beyond the gates could feel her.
And they were moving closer.
