Chapter 67 - 67: The Fall of the Beast King

"A cyborg…"

Genos narrowed his eyes. "Could it be…"

Before he could finish the thought, the towering armored figure stepped forward.

"You're not the target. Don't block my path."

Armored Gorilla's alloy fist tore through the air with a violent whistle, smashing toward Genos.

Genos shifted back half a step and seized the incoming arm. Metal collided with metal, sparks bursting where their frames locked together.

"There's something I need to ask you," Genos said, his tone sharp. If this cyborg was connected to the mad machine that destroyed his hometown, he would not let it escape.

"I'm not here for questioning."

Armored Gorilla suddenly exerted force, hurling Genos into the air.

Mid-flight, Genos adjusted his posture. The plating on his right arm unfolded, segments sliding apart to reveal a cannon barrel. Energy condensed at the muzzle, forming a blazing yellow sphere.

"Incineration Cannon."

A column of fire crashed downward, engulfing Armored Gorilla in a roaring explosion. The blast tore up the surrounding asphalt within a ten meter radius, smoke and debris flooding the street.

When the flames faded, a deep crater marked the impact site.

Armored Gorilla climbed out slowly, chest armor glowing red from the heat.

"I am Armored Gorilla, the intellectual culmination of the House of Evolution," he declared calmly. "An attack of that level is insufficient."

Elsewhere, Sol Mirek was just finishing a call when heavy footsteps echoed behind him.

Thump. Thump. Thump.

A massive shadow swallowed him.

He looked up to see a towering creature with a lion's head and a human body. Its golden mane shimmered in the sunlight, muscles coiled beneath thick fur, radiating brutal power.

The Beast King grinned. "Look at you. Frozen in place."

Sol glanced at him once, unimpressed, then returned to his phone.

"Teacher Bang, I need to take the day off," he said casually.

"You brat. Skipping on your first day?" Bang's irritated voice came through the receiver.

"Not by choice. An evil organization showed up at my door."

Behind him, the Beast King cracked his neck loudly. "I suppose I'll have to educate you on the situation."

"Hold on," Sol muttered into the phone. "There's a lion-headed monster in front of me."

"Finish quickly and come tomorrow," Bang replied. "And use Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist properly."

"Understood."

Sol ended the call.

Before the Beast King could move, a faint green light shimmered around Sol.

Invisible force slammed down like a mountain. The Beast King's face smashed into the asphalt, pinning him flat and motionless.

Sol exhaled lightly. After the meteor incident and repeated breakthroughs, his mental power had surged to a frightening degree. He was not on the level of Tatsumaki, but his Psychokinesis far surpassed that of Fubuki.

Sol released the pressure.

The Beast King lifted his head slowly. "Are you done with your call?"

"Yeah," Sol said, slipping his phone into his pocket. "Go ahead."

Enraged, the Beast King leapt up, claws swelling grotesquely as steel-like muscles tightened.

"Lion Slash."

Ten razor sharp arcs tore through the air.

Sol remained still, tilting his head slightly. The slashes grazed past his hair and shredded the building behind him.

"He dodged?" The Beast King's grin widened.

Sol rolled his shoulders lightly. "Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist. Let's see how it feels in practice."

He assumed the stance Bang had shown him, posture relaxed yet balanced, movements flowing naturally.

The Beast King lunged again, this time twice as fast.

Bang.

Sol's fist intercepted the incoming wrist precisely, dissolving the force on contact.

The Beast King felt as if he had struck air. His strength dispersed before it could land.

"What is this technique?"

Sol did not answer.

He moved.

His steps flowed like a current, fists tracing smooth arcs. Each strike landed on joints and vital points with clinical precision.

Bang. Bang. Bang.

The Beast King staggered backward under the sudden barrage.

"I'll tear you apart," he roared, muscles swelling as he entered a berserk state.

"Lion Slash Torrent."

Claws lashed wildly, carving apart walls and pavement.

Sol weaved through the chaos with precise timing, never wasting motion.

Then he saw it.

A gap.

His fist drove forward, striking the Beast King square in the chest.

Boom.

The massive body crashed into a wall.

Sol stepped forward through the settling dust.

"You… who are you?" the Beast King rasped, blood dripping from his mouth.

Sol inhaled slowly. The Demon Back pattern surfaced across his back, white steam rising from his skin.

"It's over."

The Beast King lunged in desperation.

Sol vanished from his sight.

In the next instant, he appeared behind him.

His fist pierced straight through the Beast King's chest.

Blood sprayed outward.

"Impossible…" the Beast King whispered before collapsing, his massive frame slamming into the ground.

On the opposite side of the street, Genos aimed his glowing palm cannon at the battered Armored Gorilla, who was embedded in a fractured wall.

"Answer my questions," Genos said coldly. "Or be destroyed."

"You are the one who will fall," Armored Gorilla replied. "My strength ranks only third within the House of Evolution."

He smirked faintly. "The Beast King ranks second. You cannot defeat him."

"Are you referring to this one?"

Sol stepped into view, using Psychokinesis to drag the Beast King's corpse across the pavement.

Armored Gorilla froze.

Sweat beaded along his mechanical frame.

"I will cooperate," he said immediately. "Please spare us."

Genos kept his cannon trained. "Why disguise yourself as a robot?"

Armored Gorilla hesitated. "I thought it looked impressive."

Sol stared at him silently.

"I will never do it again," Armored Gorilla added quickly.

He had come expecting ordinary humans.

Instead, he had found monsters in human form.
