Chapter 73 - The Feeling That Shouldn’t Exist

Mira couldn't focus the entire day.

She tried.

She really tried.

But her thoughts kept drifting back—

To him.

To the rooftop.

To that strange, quiet feeling she couldn't explain.

She sat at her desk, staring at her notebook.

The same one.

The one filled with words she didn't remember writing.

Her fingers slowly traced the last line again.

"I don't remember your name…""But I remember that I love you."

Her chest tightened.

That feeling again.

Deep.

Too deep.

"This doesn't make sense…" she whispered.

How could she feel something like that—

For someone she had just met?

It wasn't normal.

It wasn't logical.

And yet—

It felt real.

More real than anything else.

She closed the notebook slowly.

Her heart beating faster now.

"Why does it feel like I've known him forever…" she murmured.

Evening came.

And without even thinking—

Mira found herself walking toward the building again.

Her steps quick.

Familiar.

As if her body already knew the way.

"I didn't even decide this…" she whispered.

But she didn't stop.

Because she didn't want to.

The rooftop door opened.

And there he was.

Standing near the railing.

Waiting.

Just like yesterday.

Her heart reacted instantly.

Stronger this time.

Faster.

Warmer.

"You came," he said softly.

Mira nodded.

"Yes…"

A small pause.

Then she added—

"I think I was going to come anyway."

He smiled slightly.

"I know."

She walked closer.

Her eyes locked on him.

Studying his face again.

As if trying to memorize him—

Even though she had no memory of him.

"Is it just me…" she said slowly.

"Or does this feel… stronger today?"

He didn't look surprised.

"No," he said.

"It's not just you."

Mira's heart skipped.

Because that meant—

He felt it too.

That unexplainable pull.

That growing connection.

That shouldn't exist.

Not like this.

Not this fast.

She sat on the bench again.

Looking at the sky.

"I don't understand this," she admitted.

He sat beside her.

"You don't have to."

Mira looked at him.

"But I want to."

A pause.

"Because this feeling…" she continued.

Her voice softer now.

"It's not small."

He watched her carefully.

"What does it feel like?" he asked.

Mira hesitated.

Trying to find the right words.

Then—

"It feels like I'm remembering something… without actually remembering it."

Silence.

Because that was exactly it.

Perfectly said.

He nodded slowly.

"Yes."

Her eyes met his.

"Is that possible?"

He didn't answer immediately.

Because logically—

No.

But everything about them—

Was beyond logic now.

"I think…" he started.

Then stopped.

"What?"

He looked at her.

"I think your heart remembers."

Mira's breath caught.

"My heart…?"

He nodded.

"Even if your mind doesn't."

Her chest tightened again.

Because that made sense.

Too much sense.

Her hand slowly moved to her chest.

That same feeling.

Warm.

Familiar.

Almost like…

Home.

She looked at him again.

"Then what does your heart remember?" she asked.

A small smile appeared on his face.

"You."

Her heart skipped.

Her breath caught.

Because even without memories—

That word felt heavy.

Important.

Real.

She looked away for a second.

Trying to calm the sudden rush of emotions.

"This is too much…" she whispered.

He didn't interrupt.

Because he understood.

It was too much.

Too fast.

Too deep.

But at the same time—

It felt right.

Mira stood up suddenly.

"I need to walk," she said.

He stood up too.

"Okay."

They walked slowly across the rooftop.

Side by side.

Close—

But not touching.

Yet.

Mira glanced at him.

"Can I ask you something?" she said.

"Anything."

She hesitated.

Then asked—

"If I hadn't come here today… would you have waited?"

He didn't hesitate.

"Yes."

Her heart tightened.

"Why?"

He looked at her.

As if the answer was obvious.

"Because I always do."

Mira stopped walking.

Her breath caught.

That word again.

Always.

It echoed inside her.

Strangely familiar.

Painfully familiar.

Her eyes filled slightly.

"Why does that word feel like it means something more…" she whispered.

He didn't answer.

Because he knew—

It did.

It always had.

Mira took a small step closer to him.

Closer than before.

Her heart racing now.

Because this feeling—

It wasn't fading.

It was growing.

Stronger.

Deeper.

And harder to ignore.

"I don't understand this…" she said softly.

"But I don't want it to go away."

He looked at her.

His voice calm.

"It won't."

A pause.

Then—

"Not this time."

Mira held his gaze.

And for the first time—

She didn't question it.

Because even without memories—

Something inside her believed him.

Completely.
