Chapter 70 - Chapter 70: Isamu Gifts a Blade

"It's better if you think that way. Let's go." Isamu pulled Tsunade along as they left, while Nawaki acted like a background character behind them.

"Isn't today my graduation? Why does it feel like..." Nawaki followed behind with a look of grievance.

Soon, Isamu and the others arrived at his home—that's right, Tsunade had already moved into Isamu's house.

"Sis, why aren't we going back to our own home? Why come to this guy's house?" Seeing they had arrived at Isamu's home, Nawaki looked displeased.

"What's the rush? I'm just picking up something before we go to Grandma Mito's for dinner. Once your sister marries in, this will be her home." Isamu rolled his eyes at Nawaki, went inside to grab a rectangular box, and walked back out.

"Let's go." Isamu held the box in one hand and pulled Tsunade with the other.

"Let's go, Nawaki. Grandma Mito heard you graduated and made lots of delicious food for you." Tsunade patted Nawaki's head and followed Isamu.

"She really forgot her brother as soon as she got a man. Wait for me!" Seeing the two had already left, Nawaki let out a weird cry and followed.

Soon, the three arrived at Uzumaki Mito's doorstep.

"Grandma, I'm here!" Nawaki shouted, pushing open the door and rushing inside, with Isamu and Tsunade following behind.

Entering Uzumaki Mito's home, they saw a table full of dishes set in the central room, with Mito still bringing out more food.

"Isamu, you're here. Come on in," Mito said, setting down a dish and gesturing for them to take their seats.

"Grandma, are there more dishes? I'll help you bring them," Tsunade offered.

"No more. You can all just sit down and start eating," Uzumaki Mito replied with a smile as she looked at Tsunade.

"Grandma Mito, wasn't today's meal prepared for me? Why are you only greeting Sis and the others?" Seeing that no one was paying attention to him, Nawaki became upset.

"Oh, isn't this my eldest grandson? Congratulations on becoming a Ninja. Come over and sit down." Seeing Nawaki's unhappy face, Uzumaki Mito coaxed him like a child.

Isamu covered his mouth to the side, looking like he wanted to laugh but couldn't. As expected of Hashirama's grandson, he really was a baby.

"What's with that expression? Are you laughing at me?" Seeing Isamu enjoying his predicament, Nawaki snapped.

"Tch, who cares about you." Isamu stopped his mocking and asked Uzumaki Mito with a curious look,

"Lady Mito, when Tsunade and I get married, should I call you Aunt or Grandma? I've been thinking about this for a long time. As an elder, please tell me."

Hearing Isamu's question, Nawaki also became curious, and so did Tsunade.

"Uh... that..." Uzumaki Mito also looked troubled.

"If we go by your father's generation, your father and Hashirama were of the same generation, so you should call me Aunt Mito. But Tsunade is Hashirama's granddaughter and calls me Grandma. I don't know what you should call me either; just call me whatever you feel like."

"I'll just call you Grandma then. Anyway, that old geezer defected, so who cares about him?" Seeing Mito say it didn't matter, Isamu immediately sold out Madara.

"What old geezer defected?" Nawaki asked, completely confused.

"Just eat your food! Can't even keep your mouth shut while eating?" Tsunade raised her fist and threatened Nawaki.

"Tch, I was just asking. Can't I even ask?" Nawaki muttered under his breath while eating.

"You're still talking?" Tsunade glared again.

"Alright, Tsunade. Today is the big day Nawaki becomes a Ninja; don't make things hard for him." Isamu pulled Tsunade back.

"Tian—Isamu, he was your father after all. Let the past be the past. Besides, he's already dead, so you should show some respect," Uzumaki Mito advised.

"Yeah, Isamu. He's an elder after all; you should show him some respect," Tsunade echoed.

"Yeah, okay, I get it." Isamu agreed casually, though inwardly he was already mocking Madara again.

"Nawaki, congratulations on becoming a Ninja. Here's a gift for you." Isamu took out the long box.

"Huh? What's going on? Is the sun rising from the west? You're actually giving me a gift?" Nawaki was stunned.

"Thud! Your brother-in-law is giving you a gift, what's with that look?" Tsunade flicked his forehead.

"You haven't even married him yet, and you're already biased! I object!"

"Alright, Nawaki, let's see your brother-in-law's gift," Uzumaki Mito said, handing him the box.

"Okay!" Nawaki eagerly opened it.

"It's a blade."

Inside lay a sleek black blade. Nawaki looked at it, then at Isamu, confused.

"Why did you give him a blade?" Mito asked.

Tsunade added, "Isn't this your personal blade?"

Isamu calmly explained,

"With my current strength, I don't need a blade anymore. Rather than letting it gather dust, it's better to give it to Nawaki."

"What? So it's just a dusty old blade." Nawaki frowned.

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Tsunade snapped. "Many people wanted that blade, but he never gave it away."

"Don't underestimate it," Isamu said.

"Hundreds of Ninjas have died by it. I've killed many enemy Jonin with this blade. Its material is unique—it conducts Chakra, it's lightweight, and it can cut through iron like butter."

"That's amazing!" Nawaki's eyes lit up.

"Tian—Isamu, giving him something like this might be too much," Mito said cautiously.

Before Isamu could respond, Nawaki jumped up.

"I can handle it! I can handle it!"
