The night air over Emerald Valley was cold and heavy. Dark clouds covered the sky, blocking the moonlight and leaving the valley in deep shadow. Torches burned along the defensive walls, their flames shaking in the wind as soldiers stood ready for battle.
In the distance, the sound of marching grew louder.
Boom… Boom… Boom…
The ground trembled with every step of the approaching army.
Arin stood at the front of the valley, his sword in his hand and the Master Emerald glowing behind him. His eyes were calm, but inside his heart was beating fast.
This was the biggest battle Emerald Valley had ever faced.
Mira stood beside him, her hands glowing with magical energy.
"They're getting closer," she whispered.
The traveler stood near the Master Emerald, his staff planted firmly on the ground.
"Stay focused," he said calmly. "This battle will test your strength and your courage."
Slowly, dark figures began to appear at the edge of the valley.
Hundreds of shadow soldiers marched forward in perfect formation. Their black armor reflected the torchlight, and their red eyes glowed in the darkness. Behind them walked massive shadow beasts, their heavy steps shaking the earth.
At the center of the army stood General Kharos.
His dark armor looked like it was made from solid shadow. A long black cape flowed behind him, and in his hand was a massive dark sword that radiated dangerous energy.
He stopped at the entrance of Emerald Valley and looked forward.
"So this is the Guardian's home," Kharos said coldly.
His voice echoed across the valley.
Arin stepped forward.
"This valley will never fall to you."
Kharos smiled slightly.
"We will see."
He raised his sword.
"Shadow Army… ATTACK."
Suddenly, the entire army rushed forward.
"DEFEND THE VALLEY!" Arin shouted.
The soldiers of Emerald Valley charged forward.
Clang! Clash! Boom!
Swords collided as the battle began.
Shadow soldiers attacked from all directions, but the valley defenders fought bravely. Arrows flew through the air, striking enemies, while swords cut through dark armor.
Mira raised her hands.
"Light Wave!"
A powerful wave of glowing energy spread forward, knocking several shadow soldiers back.
The traveler lifted his staff.
"Emerald Barrier Reinforcement!"
The green barrier around the Master Emerald became stronger, protecting it from attack.
Arin rushed forward and struck down several enemies with powerful sword swings.
One shadow soldier jumped toward him, but Arin blocked the attack and kicked the enemy away.
More soldiers rushed toward him.
Arin raised his hand.
"Emerald Burst!"
A blast of green energy pushed them back and destroyed several enemies instantly.
But the shadow army kept coming.
They were endless.
Suddenly, the ground shook heavily.

The shadow soldiers moved aside.
General Kharos walked forward slowly.
The battlefield became quiet as he stepped closer.
Arin looked at him seriously.
"So you are General Kharos."
Kharos stopped a few meters away.
"And you are the Guardian of the Master Emerald."
He looked at Arin carefully.
"You are stronger than I expected."
Arin raised his sword.
"I will stop you here."
Kharos laughed softly.
"You will try."
Suddenly, Kharos moved.
In a single second, he appeared in front of Arin and swung his massive sword.
CLANG!
Arin blocked the attack, but the force pushed him backward.
The ground cracked under his feet.
"So much power…" Arin thought.
Kharos attacked again.
This time, his sword released dark energy.
BOOOOM!
Arin jumped back to avoid the attack.
Mira shouted, "Arin, be careful!"
Kharos pointed his sword at Arin.
"Show me your Guardian power."
Arin took a deep breath.
Green energy surrounded his body.
The Master Emerald glowed brighter.
"Emerald Power… activate."
He rushed forward and attacked Kharos.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
Their swords collided repeatedly.
Each strike created shockwaves in the air.
Kharos pushed Arin back and kicked him hard.

Arin fell to the ground but quickly stood again.
"You are strong," Kharos said calmly, "but still inexperienced."
Arin wiped the dust from his face.
"I'm just getting started."
He rushed forward again.
"Emerald Strike!"
Green energy covered his sword as he attacked.
Kharos blocked it easily.
"Too slow."
He punched Arin in the chest.
BOOOM!
Arin crashed into the ground.
Mira ran forward.
"Arin!"
Kharos raised his sword toward her.
"Stay out of this."
Mira stood firmly.
"I will never abandon my friend."
She raised her hands.
"Light Storm!"
A powerful magical storm attacked Kharos.
But Kharos simply waved his sword.
The dark energy destroyed the attack instantly.
He looked at Mira.
"Pathetic magic."
The traveler stepped forward.
"You underestimate her."
He raised his staff and released a beam of light.
Kharos blocked it but stepped back slightly.
"Interesting," Kharos said.
Arin slowly stood again.
His breathing was heavy, but his eyes were determined.
"I won't lose."
The Master Emerald shined brighter than before.
Green lightning surrounded Arin's body.
Kharos smiled.
"Yes… show me more power."
Arin raised his sword.
"Guardian Mode."
The ground shook.
Wind blew strongly across the battlefield.
The emerald energy became stronger.
Kharos tightened his grip on his sword.
"This is the power of the Guardian."
Arin rushed forward again with incredible speed.
BOOM!
Their swords collided again, creating a massive shockwave that pushed soldiers away.
The battle between Arin and Kharos had truly begun.
And the outcome was still unknown.
