The first body's voice remained far too calm inside the Body Room.
"The one who made me is still here."
The sentence did not shout. It did not strike the walls. It did not ignite the red line, stir the blue path, or enlarge the darkened moonlight. And yet, for an instant, everything in the room seemed to shift out of place.
Elara looked at the first body. It had no face, but it was clearly waiting. This time, it did not stand like a being asking to be witnessed, but like someone who knew the last stone it had hidden for a long time had finally been moved.
Elara called inwardly to the Moon Spirit. "Who is it talking about?"
The Moon Spirit did not answer. This silence was different from the silences before. It was not hiding. It was not denial either. It was more like someone waiting behind an old door after having already seen what would happen once it opened.
