As the two proceeded, Raiden Ei followed them directly to the edge of the town. This area was densely packed with houses and had many alleys, but the foot traffic was not heavy. She used Observation Haki to sense that most of the residences were unoccupied.
Raiden Ei noted the route and continued in the direction the pair was walking until they arrived at the entrance of a house. There was no one guarding the outside.
The pirate named Gaf knocked on the door, and it opened. A burly man, about the same build as them, appeared. Seeing their appearance, he let them inside.
Raiden Ei watched this scene from around a corner: "Is this their lair?" Using Observation Haki, she sensed ninety-eight people inside, distributed around the house. The main group was gathered in one place; she didn't know what they were doing.
She used Observation Haki to evade the patrols nearby and climbed over the wall into the house. The interior was very sparse, lacking furniture or decorations. Passing through several rooms, she hurried toward the area where they were gathered, wanting to overhear what they were discussing.
Entering the room and taking advantage of the inattention, she quickly slipped into a corner. None of the people in the room noticed anyone sneaking in. They were all noisy, talking about different matters.
On the highest platform, a man walked up. Unlike the others who were covered in muscle, he was even a bit obese. However, once he appeared on the platform, everyone stopped talking.
Auraisu faced the crowd with composure: "Everyone, the goods we seized this time are enough for us to make a fortune. Now, we have a new target."
"According to the information I received, the Sanmasonia Merchant Guild will be transporting a batch of munitions to the Duchy of Ticina soon. Should we seize it?"
The crowd responded enthusiastically: "Boss, when do we set off? We've been stopped here for several days now."
Auraisu smiled: "Tomorrow. We still need to finalize this deal with the nobles here. Everyone have a good time, just don't cause trouble in town, haha."
Listening to their conversation, Raiden Ei roughly understood what business these people were involved in: munitions and Slaves. Indeed, in this world, those were the most profitable trades.
There was no need to hide anymore. She walked directly out of the corner. She hadn't considered finding the Marines to handle them, but after thinking it over, she decided against it. This wasn't before her transmigration when she could call the police for everything; she would handle it herself!
Raiden Ei's appearance attracted the attention of some people. As she moved, more and more people noticed her. Auraisu naturally noticed her too. Such a beautiful woman—if she were his subordinate, he would certainly know her. Since she wasn't, she must be an outsider.
When the group saw the stranger, they all picked up their weapons. Upon realizing it was only her, they relaxed their guard, uttering vulgarities.
"Haha, we have a beauty who broke in! Boss, shouldn't we capture her and sell her? Such beauty, the nobles would surely like it."
"Haha, who let such a beautiful woman in? Tell me, and I'll give you ten thousand Berries."
"Don't talk like that. Selling such a beautiful woman off directly would be a waste. She should be locked up first."
Some people even shouted directly at Raiden Ei: "Miss, it's very dangerous for you to be here alone. Why don't you come with me? I guarantee you'll live a life of luxury."
Raiden Ei paid them no mind, observing these people. There were even women here. It was the first time she had seen female pirates, so she couldn't help but look a couple more times. Hmm, they had the same build as the men; they were certainly material for being pirates.
When Auraisu spoke, the other noises quieted down slightly, but his eyes were still shamelessly fixed on Raiden Ei: "Miss, did you come to the wrong place? Once you're here, it's not so easy to leave."
Raiden Ei didn't care about these people at all; in her eyes, they were all dead men: "Are the people here all your subordinates?"
Auraisu found it a bit strange, but he didn't care. He didn't believe Raiden Ei could walk out of here: "Of course not. My business spans the East Blue; I have people working for me on every island."
Raiden Ei... he was probably bragging, but there should be others not present: "Oh, so you have people working for you in other places."
Auraisu raised his head high, very proudly: "Naturally. I see you are a sensible person. Why don't you become my woman? I am the man who will rule the East Blue in the future."
The pirates below started to cheer him on.
Raiden Ei silently repeated to herself, trying not to get angry: "Then what do you rely on to rule the East Blue?"
Auraisu thought Raiden Ei was moved, so he praised himself even more vigorously: "Of course, it's munitions! I have already seized three batches of munitions. Combined with the munitions exchanged for the Slaves I delivered to the nobles, I can almost rule the East Blue."
Raiden Ei thought this man was simply an idiot. Swollen with pride like this, she figured she wouldn't get any more useful information. She picked up an ordinary tachi from the side:
"Since you can't tell me the information I want to know, then none of you should live."
"Oh, right. Even if you told me the information I wanted, I wouldn't let you go."
Auraisu's face immediately darkened. The surrounding pirates' laughter seemed to mock him: "Since you refuse, then we'll chop off your limbs and see how you reject me then."
A pirate stepped out from the crowd, grinning: "Boss, leave this little chick to me. I will definitely follow your wishes and chop off her limbs."
"Is there an end to this! Every single one of you is looking for death!" Raiden Ei stopped listening to the vulgarities. Since someone stepped forward, she would kill him first.
She lightly turned the tachi in her hand and swiftly charged toward the pirate. With a horizontal slash, before the opponent could react, his head was gone, though his body was still standing. Raiden Ei appeared behind him, facing all the remaining pirates.
The others were stunned, not expecting Raiden Ei to be so formidable. They hadn't even seen how she made her move. Now they panicked and quickly grabbed their weapons.
Raiden Ei wouldn't wait for them to strike first. She didn't particularly care how many people she killed; they didn't want to live themselves, so she had to send them on their way. The tachi in her hand emitted a cold, icy glint, reflecting the panicked faces of the pirates at that moment.
With light steps, Raiden Ei swung her blade rapidly, and two more heads flew off. Blood splattered onto the other pirates, terrifying them into chaos. No matter how brutal a pirate was, the moment the blade approached, they desperately tried to dodge, as if dodging fast enough meant their head wouldn't be the one falling.
But would Raiden Ei's blade let them escape? Could they evade the rapidly descending tachi?
The answer was no. With a sweep of her arm, she killed three more people. Only then did the organized counterattack from the distance arrive belatedly.
