Chapter 79 The Crushing Bug is a Crushing Blow: Too Slow, Too Slow!

"You're asking for it! Get out of my way!"

At this moment, Mewtwo, who was currently battling Lucario, roared angrily.

It was entangled by Lucario, its attacks repeatedly interrupted.

A powerful psychic energy formed a semi-transparent shield that expanded, engulfing the attacking Lucario. Not only was it thrown back, but it also crashed heavily to the ground.

Lucario had done its best; the level difference, without the Steel-type resistance, meant it was already powerless against Mewtwo's dominance.

"It's time for you to step in! Go, Mega Beedrill!" With a sharp look in his eyes, Xia Mu used Aura to maintain a telepathic connection with Mega Beedrill.

At this moment, Xia Mu's emotions were completely transmitted to Mega Beedrill, including Mega Beedrill's own emotions; it already had the intention to teach Mewtwo a lesson.

Because Lucario had been so badly suppressed, how could its companion tolerate it?

Mega Beedrill charged forward, its speed too fast for the naked eye to see.

After Mega Evolution, its base Speed stat had reached 145.

At that moment, Lucario, under Mewtwo's Psychic control, was lifted into the air.

Despite its strength, Lucario had nowhere to pull itself up and couldn't break free.

"This is the consequence of helping humans. Your sacrifices are worthless in their eyes," Mewtwo said, its Psychic about to inflict secondary damage on Lucario's psyche.

In that instant, a black and yellow figure appeared.

  A cross-shaped slash shot out.

  A deafening boom!

The terrifying cross-shaped slash, like a tangible energy blade, struck Mewtwo in the chest.

Not only was it highly effective, but it also hit a vital spot, and this Bug-type move's power was doubled by its ability.

Even though the power of the cross-shaped slash wasn't high, the damage to Mewtwo was real.

Overwhelmed by speed, giving Mewtwo no chance to react, and doubling the damage due to type advantage, Mewtwo was blasted to the ground, creating a massive explosion with billowing smoke, demonstrating its terrifying power.

Lucario, thanks to Mega Beedrill's intervention, was freed from the psychic powers.

Back on the ground, it gasped for breath before thanking Mega Beedrill.

As Xia Mu's Pokémon, they knew from the beginning that Xia Mu had decided who would battle Mewtwo.

Although Lucario was unhappy because it could also Mega Evolve, Xia Mu had never intended for it to battle Mewtwo.

Now, Lucario understood Xia Mu's choice.

Despite only having followed Xia Mu for twenty days, they already knew type advantages intimately, and sending Beedrill to fight Mewtwo was clearly the best option.

Especially considering Mewtwo's strength, which even they couldn't easily defeat one-on-one, even with Mega Evolution.

Lucario knew it couldn't beat Mewtwo.

'Lucario~~ Lucario~~' (Master Xia Mu, I've disappointed you.)

Retreating to Xia Mu's side, Lucario said this with self-reproach, deeply moving Xia Mu.

"No! Lucario, you've already done a great job.

That guy was created using Mew's genes; in a sense, it's no weaker than a legendary Pokémon, so you don't need to feel guilty," Xia Mu reassured it.

Immediately afterward, he checked on the situation with Mega Beedrill, knowing that Mewtwo hadn't recovered yet, and quickly took out a full pack of medicine to treat Lucario.

He helped Lucario recover before speaking to Mew: "I'm going to get serious now, so don't betray me at this crucial moment."

Just in case, Xia Mu gave Mew a heads-up.

He had witnessed the battle earlier and roughly understood that Mewtwo wasn't invincible.

At least in its current state, Xia Mu was absolutely confident of victory.

No matter how powerful your psychic abilities are, no matter how strong your skills are, the base strength remains the same.

So what if it has the potential of a legendary Pokémon? It's still a Pokémon that hasn't fully grown.

Ordinary Pokémon may not be comparable in certain abilities, but that doesn't mean their strength is insurmountable.

'Mimi~~Mimi~~' (Are you really going to catch it, Xia Mu?)

Mew's clear voice startled Xia Mu; this was the first time Mew had addressed him so formally.

Xia Mu nodded and said, "In this situation, if I don't subdue and suppress it, this matter won't be resolved so easily.

Subduing it might help it change, from accepting this world to coming into contact with more people and things.

When it truly understands the meaning of life one day, it won't be so extreme anymore. Anyway, you can rest assured, I won't use it."

As soon as he finished speaking, Mewtwo immediately responded, "Alright then, but please don't hurt it. I can sense its heart; it's actually in a lot of pain."

 "Okay," Xia Mu promised, nodding.

At the same time, Mewtwo's figure suddenly soared into the sky from the thick smoke.

After taking the cross-shaped attack, it wasn't instantly defeated like in the game.

The real world is different; the difference between a legendary Pokémon and an ordinary one is ridiculously large.

If it were any other Psychic-type, it would definitely have been killed by that critical hit.

"You've really angered me, again and again! Now it's you, you bug!" Mewtwo's eyes turned red, and a purple aura surrounded its entire body, stirring up the lightning in the sky.

A storm raged, dark clouds loomed overhead.

  The scene was terrifying.

But even so, it was all just a facade.   'Buzz~!' (All you do is talk big?)   Mega Beedrill's sharp attack, its arrogant tone only fueling Mewtwo's rage.

With a flick of its wrists, it unleashed a barrage of Shadow Balls.   Previously, seeing Mewtwo use this move against Mew, one might have assumed it was attacking based on type advantage.

Now it seemed that wasn't the case.

Or rather, Mewtwo was blinded by rage, unleashing such a meaningless attack.

Mega Beedrill was indeed fragile, but Shadow Balls could never instantly kill it.

Moreover, this speed of attack was completely ineffective against Mega Beedrill.

'Buzz~~Buzz~~' (Too slow, too slow, too slow! Faster!)

Mega Beedrill moved through the sky, its movements so slow they were almost imperceptible, like teleportation.

In contrast, Mewtwo's Shadow Balls could only strike Beedrill's afterimage.

Such a scene was utterly awe-inspiring.

Mewtwo's power had been deeply ingrained in everyone's minds from the very beginning, captivating all present.

Now, seeing Mewtwo being toyed with by a Beedrill that had evolved again, everyone's emotions surged with excitement.

"So amazing, so incredibly amazing!" Misty exclaimed first.

Brock and Ash, standing beside her, were also saying things like "Incredible!" and "I really want to catch one and raise one too."

Sora was dumbfounded, muttering to himself, "I used to think that Bug-type monsters were weak and not worth raising, but I never imagined they could be this strong."
