Ed arrived about five minutes later than she did,but she didn't complain while waiting. When ed caught up to her,she was sitting down on a swing while Nell stood some distance back.
"You wanted to tour the dungeons right, Nell is here to escort us since it might be dangerous. After all, the impure gate dungeon is where our school is going on a subjugation mission.
Ed didn't react like it was of importance to him, but reacted like a tourist to avoid suspicion. Kyle showed him around all the major dungeons in the city including the impure gate to make sure he knew it. Although she didn't know the reason why he wanted to go to the dungeon despite intentionally failing the test, she wanted to find out
After talking with each other for a while,a girl almost the height of Ed,a 5'1 onnx black hair with four big braids walks up to them,her resemblance with Kyle was obvious,and she approached Ed without glancing at Kyle, although she didn't show any visible reaction, Ed suspected something
"Monsieur... greetings to you"
Ed hesitated after glancing at Kyle but had to respond
"Sure, hello..."
"I'm... Karen Armstrong, Kyle's elder sister and the heir to the French empire. Could you introduce yourself?"
"My name is... ed.d. Angelo,from South Korea"

Karen kept a smile on her face the entire time, ignoring Kyle while focusing on Ed. Although ed didn't look friendly to her for a while, her stand didn't change.

After taking a final glance at Ed, she turns to Kyle who sat silently beside him.
"Kyle dear,dad has been looking for us you know"
Turning, she starts to Walk away

Kyle didn't hesitate. Seconds after, she rose to her seat, turned to ed and waved him before running after nell that escorted Karen who had already gained distance.
While waiting for them to go out of range,he readied his equipments for the dungeon. Taking a cab,ed rushed to the town where the dungeon spawned. The city was cold and silent without any trace of life coming from it.
Despite its size, the entrance was unique, one you can spot without anyone speaking. The entrance excluded dense murderous intent into the air, showcasing the terrors inside.
And although most of the students didn't know, the reason this was a subjugation mission was because, the children of stone is actually a monster. When killed,it transformed into the artifact they were looking for
"I'm not confident of beating this beast with my own strength. But with these..."
Ed grips the resolve collections while getting prepared to enter the dungeon. At the strike of dusk,ed approached the dungeon.
After entering, the scenery changed. Unlike most dungeons, the impure gate was rarely guarded due to the debuff effects it gives on awakeners;a 60% debuff on all stats for one week.
The first monster he ran into was the horned fox,a city level beast. It's teeth where powerful enough to snap a tree in half with one bite, and it boasted of its insane agility
Ed quietly approached a pack of 4 foxes laying on the grass. He used the rank hovering above their heads to determine their rank.

Ed stepped on dry leaves, giving up his location intentionally. Standing in a position where the beast had to charge forward,he makes his presence known while standing guard.
In a flash, the leader of the pack closed in, going straight for the weak point in Ed's neck to kill him instantly, but Ed evaded, taking its left leg with him. As the beast tumbled over the floor,ed threw his cloud blade, killing it instantly. One grazed Ed's feet as he was focused on the first but Ed managed to kill it
The two left decided to corner him from both sides while avoiding damage. As the lunged together,ed used the [space step] skill to evade while instantly killing one by piercing him brain with the skyblade
Seeing this, the last one runs into the forest leaving his family behind. While ed paused to rest,a system notification popped up

Ed went over his system, sorting out what to do for the meantime. He still hasn't completed the conditions to awaken zero's ring and he had to survive a hidden dungeon he knew nothing about
"Oh well... for now let's find the children of stone."
While walking, Ed stumbled upon an unmarked part of the dungeon. While ignoring it,he turned to go when the section of the dungeon caved in, bringing down rocks and boulders with it. Although ed felt buried under the rocks, when he opened his eyes, the dungeon changed
The atmosphere was cold. Cold enough that fire magic wouldn't work inside. The very temperature dropped to the point where Ed legs froze in place on the floor
The area was vast, possibly another city inside it. While there were no visible cities close by, he had to find a place for him to survive. While struggling to move,a notification popped up above his head and in the air
