Chapter 28 - Embark

Sunny realized what Anvil was trying to say.

Broken Sword's body can't be found. Why? Because he was definitely eaten! Whatever he had run to had damaged him so badly that Ki Song's blood had finished the job.

"That's good information. However, I will still insist, as it's important to find his remains or whatever creature ate him." Sunny said.

Anvil stood there for a moment and tried to understand, and then he spoke.

"I would be happy to help, it's just that Antarctica needs to be evacuated. Millions of people have been displaced and need to-" Anvil was rudely cut off.

"You can save the theatrics. You know as well as I do, you don't care. Ki Song can accumulate a few more Saints than you in this time period, but overall, it won't change the situation. Humanity's strongest are in Antarctica right now. It's the safest place in the world." Sunny said.

His words came down like a hammer, removing the curtain to reveal what Anvil was really thinking. He wasn't ashamed either. What he most likely wanted was some sort of compensation for accompanying Sunny. That was how meetings like this happened after all.

He could also want an assurance. As for the assurance that Anvil wanted? It was simple, his thoughts were like this.

'If I take you to find whatever you're looking for, what is to stop you from attacking me?' Anvil thought.

At this point, Anvil had accepted that Sunny was stronger. At least here in his home. He was in his citadel, with his source element and domain increasing his strength while suppressing Anvil's own domain and strength. However, he wouldn't do Sunny's bidding just to die right after. As a Supreme, it's almost impossible to smother your aggroance completely.

"Anvil, if you keep the end of your bargain, I'll give you one thing." Sunny started.

Anvil could not disagree as long as Sunny met the one demand.

"I've taken some things from Ki Song as well, so in that regard of her having more saints do not think she did not pay a price, consider yourselves even. Even if she gathers more Saints." Sunny said.

Anvil's mind was processing the information he was just given.

'He took something from Ki Song?' He thought.

"I'm sure she suppressed the information about what happened, but surely you noticed the change in Antarctica that happened a few weeks ago," Sunny said.

The King of Swords went into deep thought.

'A few weeks ago? Wait, one of her Saints left Antarctica a few weeks ago. It was odd when I tried to inquire about it, but the news was incredibly suppressed, and false rumors were also spread to hide it. However, one of the rumors was that someone broke into the Jade Palace and stole something.' Anvil's mind finally reached a conclusion.

Before Sunny had gone into the Death Game, he had to obviously steal it. Unfortunately or fortunately, as Sunny would come to figure out, he was spotted, albeit for only a moment. Nobody could even discern he was a Shadow.

They were looking for a creature made of darkness when Sunny investigated the matter himself.

"When we travel into the Oblivion Zone, I'll let you finish off a few Nightmare Creatures to help your transformation ability forge you a powerful weapon." Sunny said.

It was a sweet deal in all fairness. Sunny would just have to watch out and ensure he didn't kill an abomination that had too much of an insidious ability, but this way, Anvil would be compensated.

'He probably realised by now that he could use a Sacred Memory. His 'Will' is also unshakeable and powerful so he'd be able to use any weapon perfectly. He must have figured out as well that unsummoning your ''Will' is a demerit.' Sunny thought.

He mentally sighed at this fact. It truly did help to be a Supreme for over a decade. The King of Swords and Ki Song were probably sitting on mountains of knowledge that they never allowed to be released.

'Greedy!' Sunny thought.

Anvil finally opened his mouth in reply.

"Deal, we'll depart now, I'm guessing?"Anvil asked.

Sunny nodded his head and Kai replied.

"Where are we going to be entering from?" Kai asked.

Anvil looked at Kai while he replied.

"In the past, to reach the seed, we departed from the Night Temple. It takes several days travelling in the Hollow Mountains from there, but there's a large opening that leads to the Underworld there. I'm guessing we'll be using your sight as well to aid us?" Anvil asked Kai, frowning.

Whether it was through the mist or the Underworld, Kai's sight would help in both, so he nodded.

What was more shocking was how fast Anvil learned about Kai's aspect. He had just become a Saint a few weeks ago, but he already knew this much about him.

"Useful, but highly dangerous for you. Although I'm sure you already know that." Anvil said.

He had no qualms with Kai risking his life.

"When do we depart for the Night Temple?" Anvil asked.

This time, Sunny spoke.

"Give me a few moments, I have a tether near there, so I'll open a gate," Sunny said.

Anvil was bewildered by this.

"You conveniently had a tether near the Night Temple?" Anvil asked.

Sunny replied with a snide remark.

"I conveniently have multiple tethers in multiple spots, don't you?" Sunny said sarcastically.

He had a tether already down near the north of the Chain Isle, which was a good spot. A few hundred miles away from the Night Temple. Ever since Anvil mentioned the Night Temple, Sunny had already sent his incarnation to go back to the waking world and pull on the tether near the chained isle.

After a few very large Shadow-Steps that could even deplete a Supreme Titan's essence, Sunny's incarnation found himself gazing at the Night Temple.

"Not the best memories here, but it was needed to conquer the Second Nightmare." Sunny said to himself.

At the Nameless Temple, Sunny looked at the small group and opened a gate to the Waking World.

"Let's go." Sunny said behind his visor.

Kai went through first, followed by Anvil.

In just a moment another gate opened. After the next gate, they found themselves near the Night Temple. Looking down at it from a hill.

Anvil hid his shock.

'He's powerful, but the fact that he can be in so many places at once is dangerous.' He thought.

The reason was simple. If a Supreme could have multiple tethers, that would mean that they could be in multiple spots in the Dream Realm in a very short amount of time.

If the King of Swords or Ki Song possessed the ability to do this, that meant that there wouldn't be a war any longer. The other Supreme would lose multiple citadels in a short amount of time, rendering their domain weaker. At a certain point, it would become impossible to contest against the other Supreme.

The implications of this were huge, but what Anvil didn't know was that Sunny possessed multiple bodies as well. Not only could he have multiple tethers, but he could genuinely take multiple citadels at once, not in a short amount of time. The incarnation that opened the gate hid in the shadows and reattached to Sunny when he arrived through the gate making Anvil believe Sunny could just open a gate to a different place at will.

'No use in showing Anvil all my cards. I need to keep some hidden just in case.' Sunny thought.

The group travelled past the Night Temple as Sunny thought about the first time he came here. The first time he saw a Saint die. It was Tyris who had helped him and killed Saint Cormac.

Anvil brought them to where the boundary of the mist. In their nothingness reigned supreme, and only creatures with a strong sense of self could roam because even a moment of forgetfulness could nearly kill you.

Sunny heard a hushed talking, a small whisper and turned around. It was Kai. He was giving himself commands.

"Focus on your True Name at all times, stay vigilant," Kai said in a hushed voice.

Anvil rolled his shoulders and then stepped through the mist. Behind him, Sunny and Kai followed, disappearing into the nothingness.
