"Lucy!"
Lucy turned slowly. Oscar was standing in front of her with jack next to him. Rachel stood beside them, her face full of disdain.
There was a brief silence.
"I hope you're happy," Oscar said.
Lucy looked at him directly and reply,
"Yes. I am happy."
Rachel let out a mocking laugh.
"Heheh… even if you're hurting, you'd still say that? Hmph!"
Zoe didn't hold back either.
"If you just stayed quiet, no one would think you're mute."
"Zoe, stop…" Lucy tried to calm her.
"Why should I stop? If she stops interfering, I won't say a thing!"
Lucy turned back to Oscar.
"Why did you call me?"
Oscar took a deep breath.
"Soon, you'll receive an invitation to my wedding with Jack."
Lucy raised her eyebrows slightly, then calmly said,
"Oh… congratulations. Anything else?"
That response shocked everyone.
No one had expected it.
Inside, Oscar was struggling. He still loved Lucy—there was no doubt about that. But now, he saw her as a cruel woman who had hurt his feelings.
Jack felt Oscar's hand grip his tightly. She knew he was holding himself back.
Still, Jack smiled and said,
"Thank you, Lucy. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have had the chance to be with the man of my life."
Then she kissed Oscar on the cheek.
Lucy watched them for a few seconds.
"You're welcome," she said calmly.
She didn't wait for a reply.
She turned and walked away with Zoe.
As they left, there was a heavy silence.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Jack asked softly.
"I'm fine," Oscar replied curtly. "You guys go on… I have somewhere to go."
He pulled away from Jack's hold and walked off.
"Brother! Where are you going?" Rachel called out, but he didn't answer.
Only the dust from the car speeding away remained as a response.
