Renjiro stood in the silent vacuum of space, his eyes locked onto the blue-and-green marble of Earth.
"Kael, I will get our revenge on that Shadow Lord," he muttered to himself.
His crimson eyes suddenly shifted, bleeding into a pitch-black void. "Shadow Monarch," he called out.
With a flash of dark light, a humanoid robot materialized before him. "Long time no see, Master," the machine spoke, its voice deep and metallic.
"This is an emergency," Renjiro said, his voice cold.
The robot's tone immediately shifted to a serious, synthetic hum. "Understood. I am equipped to bypass any magic, sorcery, or obstacle in our path."
Renjiro smirked. "Really? Even Kael?"
The robot paused, a digital smile flashing on its screen. "This time... I would lose."
With a soft whir, the robot faded away, replaced by a floating holographic system screen. Renjiro raised a single hand toward the stars. Beneath him, thousands of dark circles erupted in the void, and an endless army of shadows began to pour out.
"System," Renjiro commanded. "Locate the Shadow Lord."
A system notification popped up in front of him:
[Alert: Two active Shadow Lords detected.]
Renjiro's eyes widened slightly. "Give me the locations of both."
The screen split into two feeds. One showed a Shadow Lord deep within the Shadow Realm, surrounded by whispering shadows. The other showed a second Shadow Lord moving rapidly toward the Void World.
Without hesitation, Renjiro chose the Void World.
A flash of dark energy enveloped him, and he teleported instantly, appearing right at the gateway of the Void World. A figure was already waiting there. The Shadow Lord turned around, a mocking grin spreading across his face.
"Oh my, oh my," the Shadow Lord drawled. "Look who it is. Where is your father, little boy?"
Renjiro didn't flinch. He simply smirked back. "Why don't you look behind you?"
The Shadow Lord turned his head. His smirk froze. Across the dark expanse, two massive shadow armies were already clashing in a chaotic, brutal war. Renjiro's forces were tearing through his own.
"Can you really fight against a true Shadow Monarch?" Renjiro asked quietly.
The Shadow Lord turned back, his eyes narrowing with a mix of fear and excitement. "Now I see. After Kael, you are the next one who can actually beat me! The name is Ignis!"
Renjiro blinked, then let out a soft laugh. "So, your name is Ignis."
Ignis lunged forward with blinding speed. Renjiro didn't hesitate. He drew his sword, meeting the attack head-on. Sparks flew into the dark void as their blades clashed.
"You're not using your void techniques?" Ignis mocked, pushing against Renjiro's blade.
Renjiro effortlessly parried the blow and leaped backward. "Yeah. You aren't worth the effort."
"Who cares!" Ignis laughed crazily, sprinting forward again.
The two became blurs of motion. Their swords collided repeatedly, sending shockwaves through the empty space. But the sheer scale of the battle was starting to take a toll. Renjiro felt the mental strain of controlling his massive shadow army. Deciding to conserve his energy, he willed his shadow soldiers to retreat.
Ignis noticed the retreat and burst out laughing. "Is that it? Is this your limit?"
Renjiro didn't answer. He stretched his arms out, completely cutting off his connection to the retreating shadow army.
"Are you really going to take on that much pressure?" Ignis sneered, preparing another strike.
Renjiro sighed softly. "Now, I just want my revenge."
Ignis leaped back, then sprinted forward with explosive power. Renjiro drew his second sword. In a fraction of a second, he moved at the speed of light.
Slash!
He passed right through Ignis, cutting him cleanly into two halves.
But the victory was short-lived. A sudden, blinding light erupted from the severed torso. Pitch-black rays of energy wrapped around the two halves, pulling them back together. Within seconds, Ignis stood completely healed.
"Shadow Depth!" Ignis roared.
The sky darkened as thousands of dark arrows rained down toward Renjiro. Renjiro quickly raised his hand, forming a massive energy barrier above his head. The arrows rattled violently against the shield.
"Shadow Curse!" Renjiro yelled back.
Immediately, hundreds of thousands of dark swords materialized in the space around them. They began to spin rapidly around Ignis, forming a deadly, swirling storm.
"These are the Death Swords," Renjiro said coldly.
Ignis looked at the spinning blades, his smile returning. "Do you really think I can die?"
Renjiro only hummed in response, his eyes cold.
While a storm of shadows and steel raged in the deep void of space, a very different kind of battle was beginning back on Earth.
Kael was heading to his corporate headquarters for the very first time, walking alongside Sara. To keep a low profile, Kael wore a sleek black face mask.
As they entered the grand lobby, a secretary rushed over, bowing respectfully to Alex Vrenj, who was walking ahead of them. "Good morning, Mr. Vrenj. How can I help you today?" she asked.
Alex nodded toward the masked man. "Take a look at him."
The secretary glanced at Kael. "Yes, sir? The gentleman with the white hair wearing a mask?"
Alex smiled faintly. "That is Kael Redgrave. He is the new owner of this company."
The secretary's eyes widened, and she let out a nervous chuckle. "Sir, I know you like to help the company, but you shouldn't play jokes like this."
Alex didn't argue. He simply handed her an official profile document. Attached to the file was a photograph of a young man with striking white hair and mesmerizing golden eyes.
The secretary gasped, her cheeks turning bright red. "How can a guy be this handsome...?"
Sara, who was standing nearby, stepped closer to Kael. She leaned in and teased Alex, "Is he married?"
Alex quickly covered Sara's face with his hand, playfully stopping her before leading the group toward the private office. Once inside the chairman's office, Kael finally removed his face mask.
The secretary, who had followed them in, took one look at his face and completely froze. Her legs gave out, and she collapsed onto a nearby chair, overwhelmed. When she finally snapped out of her daze, she saw Alex sitting on the sofa, while Kael and Sara stood nearby, watching her with amused expressions.
"Sir..." the secretary stammered, blushing deeply. "If the employees find out that the future chairman looks like this, everyone will lose their minds and leave their desks."
Kael nodded understandingly. "I know. They probably don't want to work under a young newbie like me anyway."
Sara turned to Kael, her voice soft. "You've worked so hard lately. You should take a break. I can handle things here while you go on a holiday."
Kael smiled and agreed. "Alright. Thank you, Sara."
Sara hummed a cheerful tune as she began sorting through the files on the desk. Kael let out a soft chuckle. But as he sat behind the grand desk, his expression quickly turned serious.
A knock echoed at the door. Kael quickly slipped his mask back on. "Come in."
The door opened, and a group of high-level managers walked in, bowing deeply. "Good morning, Chairman."
"Good morning," Kael replied, gesturing for them to stand.
Sara sat on the sofa, watching quietly. "Is the work going well?" Kael asked.
The managers nodded quickly. "Yes, sir."
Sara then stood up and placed a folder on Kael's desk. "These are the profiles of the employees who have been leaking our secrets to rival companies, ruining everyone else's hard work."
Without a word, Kael open his laptop. His fingers flew across the keyboard. Within seconds, a termination and transfer notice was drafted.
"You may all leave now," Kael said calmly to the managers. Sara took the finalized document and immediately processed the transfers, sending them to the blacklisted employees.
Moments later, a group of angry, panicked employees knocked and entered the office.
"Sir!" one of the ringleaders complained. "We deserve to know why we are being targeted! Is it because of her? Are you trying to clear us out just to please your girlfriend?"
Sara's face instantly flushed bright red at the word "girlfriend," and she looked down, embarrassed.
Kael leaned back in his chair, his eyes cold behind his mask. "Of course I am giving her special treatment. She has protected this company while I was away. That is why she is going on a well-deserved five-day holiday."
The complaining employees froze. Realizing they had been completely caught, they fell to their knees.
"We are sorry, sir!" they cried out, tears streaming down their faces. "We will never contact those rival companies again! Please forgive us!"
A sharp smirk appeared under Kael's mask.
"Who said anything about cutting contact?" Kael asked, his voice dropping to a low, dangerous tone. "From now on, you will keep talking to them. But you will feed them exactly what I tell you to feed them."
The employees looked up, trembling, but quickly nodded. "Y-yes, sir!"
Two worlds. Two battlefields. In the cold depths of the void, Renjiro fought a war of shadows and steel. On Earth, Kael fought a war of minds and corporate strategy. Both of them were pushing forward, refusing to back down.
