Victor refused to stop talking.
"That silence after I knocked was suspicious," his voice continued from outside the suite door. "Very suspicious."
Dante closed his eyes slowly like he was imagining murder.
Camille bit back a smile.
"You're dramatic."
Victor gasped through the other side of the door.
"I just saved your lives for twelve consecutive hours and this is the respect I get?"
Dante walked toward the door with the expression of a man seconds away from committing a felony.
The moment he opened it, Victor nearly stumbled inside holding a tablet and a half-empty energy drink.
He stopped abruptly after seeing Camille standing only a few feet away from Dante.
His eyes narrowed immediately.
"Oh."
Dante's patience visibly evaporated.
"What do you want?"
Victor grinned shamelessly.
"You interrupted me before I could finish my investigation."
"You never started one."
"I absolutely did." Victor pointed between them dramatically. "Something happened in here."
